Ivan,
I took you're advise (Ol Ger's too) and dumped McAfee which was a freaken resource HOG.

Loaded Avast (free version) and it's running like a champ.
Should I still put Spybot or something else, it seems too many anti-virus programs running at the same time is a waste????

Spybot really doesn't take up any recources until you run a scan and then it pretty much takes over' so make sure you have about 30 minutes where you don't need the computer. Not sure what avast is but anti spyware and anti virus are 2 different things. I don't have an anti virus but I run windows defender every night. Defender is an anti spyware program. I run Spybot if something gets by Defender. The trickier trojans and other adware have a way of replacing themselves after Defender runs. But Spybot can usually knock em out. I also run Spybot in safe mode. I will look into avast because I really should have an anti virus.
