My son, is 14, plays elite AAA level hockey, in the ALberta Major Bantam League, which is considered the strongest Bantam League in North America, and one of the strongest, if not the strongest league in the world right now. He is now over 6'2" and 195lbs. Hockey is a great game. I dont know if I would say its more or less athletic than Basketball, but is a TON tougher. Wayyyy harder on the body, and requires people with way more spine than basketball.
I like them both though, and played basketball through high school. It was alot of fun.
Pro hockey players are the toughest athletes, bar none. Basketball doesnt even register. Football players, at the pro level are tough bastards too.

Lenny... nice try. But, you dont even know how laughable that statement is. They are definately both very demanding sports, but basketball players are a bunch of princesses compared to pro hockey players. I remember once when one sports show, they were AMAZED that one of the B Ball players had a couple teeth knocked loose. He sprawled around on the ground like he had been shot.
Last year, one of the top D men in the league took a stick to the face, and had both front teeth knocked out. He skated over to the ref, showed him his two chicklets in his tooth gaurd, and mentioned that he might want to call it a bit tighter. Handed the trainer his teeth and tooth gaurd, and went back out next shift. Thats the difference. Toughness.
you dont see basketball players getting stitches on the bench, no freezing, and then right back out next shift. There is no comparison. Basketball is a finese sport. Hockey is a tough sport, for guys with finese.
Dont show your lack of intelligence like that again, please.
Just when I thought this thread couldn't get any funnier.
How come when I think of Dean...I think of Dean Youngblood?
(just standing in for EID in his absence)
inter-murals don't count
Like 'I said, I played intermural basketball for my fraternity at UNC, doesn't make it the Tar Heels of the ACC though
Pit Row
Speaking of, in the 3rd game against the Ducks, Robidas took a line drive to the schnoz. Well he skated to the bench, stuck some cotton up his nose to help control the bleeding, slapped a piece of tape over it, and played his next shift. He was also the defensive man of game 4, broken nose and all.
BB players take an elbow and thier out for a week.
How come BB play-offs are only played every 4 days? These guys so out of shape they can't play back to back nights?
ahahahahaha
