My girlfriend can't learn to drive with a trailer. I learned when I was like 16 and had a landscaping job, then worked on golf courses during the summers. I'm trying to teach her but even when she does what I tell her it doesn't work. She gets so pissed trying to back up and I have to do it. I don't get it. It's 2nd nature to me - it's just the opposite, turn left to move the trailer right and vice versa.
Anyone ever have a problem learning it or a problem teaching someone?

Takes multiple tries.
I can drive a car for miles and around turns in reverse, backing a trailer is misery
I understand "turn opposite of the direction you want to go"
My left handed brain can't get it right.
It's a struggle
Be right back, gonna go knock on the kitchen cabinet.
Thats how I was taught and I've never had a problem. Takes a little bit of practice though - second nature once you learn how to actually do it.
The short ones are a bit more of a pain in the ass though.

She needs to feel what happens with that concept if she is struggling with the bigger version.
She got really good in the first season, so that made me pretty happy. She still like's to open the tailgate so she can see the empty trailer....but she's getting beter and better each year. Good luck with teaching her Trin. The best thing is take her to a field too practice and tell her the worst thing she could do is get frustrated.(or jackknife it into your Bumper)
What are you, NUTS?
