I record a lot of stuff on my DVR and really like it. I have no problems except when I record the History Channel. I get some pixilation and little blips in the sound. No other channels but every time I record History it happens. Anybody else have this problem?

Never, I have time warner HD DVR and the only problem was that my first recorder would freeze during playback. I took it back to the store and they swapped it in 5 minutes. I always record THS and have never encountered any problems.

Do you get the pixilation when you watch the history channel too?

If you do then it could be the signal from outlet or a bad connection to the DVR. The digital channels are normally compressed, grouped into a constellation and sent out over an existing analog channel (cable TV) to the DVR. Its probable there would be other channels that have the same problems. You might not notice it because it could be channels you don't subscribe to or you just don't watch.

It is not likely that there is a problem with the DVR if you only have the issue on one channel. If the box was bad it should be pixilated or have sound anomalies on other recordings too.

It could also be a problem with the History channel when it leaves the head end. Then other people in your area would be dealing with the same thing.

I would call your cable company and have a tech come out to take a look.

If you are though satellite then sorry for making you read that (I don’t know about that system)

Thanks for the info, but no, when I watch History live their are no issues. That's what's confusing me about it. I guess I will give Cox a call.
