I had the same car and even color. Their cheap and fast but not reliable. Mine was a mid-12 second car with very little money into it.

I saw green for two seconds before the car even moved. Thank goodness for by runs.

ET isn't affected by reaction time. Probably was just concentrating on the launch. He might have even a better run on a good track.

Years ago, I helped out some friends on some weekends with a Super Street Outlaw team.
We were doing some test passes early in the day at Tulsa and a couple kids walked over and wanted to know if we had the fastest Mustang on the property. We said, "Nah, that'd be Billy Glidden down there by the fence, but we're close.".

So the short little bastard talked his shit about his 9-second Eagle Talon and wanted to race for some money.

So Mike (the car owner) and Chris Derrick (the driver) obliged.

Mike Duffy (crew chief and chassis builder) got the laptop back out, put the big tune on the car, helped me put the wheelie bars back on, and our driver went out and ran close to a 7-flat at around 200. On little tires.

That Talon ran around a 10.90....presumably because the kid shit his pants when Chris blasted him with a perfect light and disappeared off into the horizon.

Chris went down and collected the money and then handed it to the kid's girlfriend and told her to take him to dinner and use the leftover cash to go buy some common sense.

It was funny.

The whole DSM/Import crowd cracks me up at times. Impressive cars sure, but a lot of the owners/drivers should think before they open their mouths to the wrong people.
