I was in DFW about 5 years ago, bunch of Marines came walking by, we all stopped in our tracks and started clapping ( about a 100 people ). It was very moving for me & brought a tear to my eye... We will never be able to thank them enough.. IMHO

It comes down to time and effect. War at best is a short term win. That is to say you can stop brutality with a gun i.e. someone is trying to break into your house so you call the cops (if there is time) or you handle it yourself. Either way a person with a gun is going to have to step in. Now if the person that means you harm is not too bad off then maybe a certain amount of education could bring them around. If they are not too bad off.
The middle east was too bad off. I think the only place we really disagree is in the fact that I think people are valuable all over the world. Not just our people. So at the end of the day they have to put in control over there and then begin the educational part. Only takes one generation.

Our downfall is not winning. It is always this half assed politically correct attempt at mediocrity. It's too bad. The US for the most part has had honorable goals but it has been followed up with the above. That is not to say there has been no positive gain but there is room for improvement if I can make an understatement.
