neck braces?

i'm not a new rider but i want your opinions
i wear an atlas now but it seems like it does more harm than good
my doctor said it saved me at my regional but the medic said it was my helmet (that's what i think too) some kid collided with me in the air long story short i landed on my head and 3 450s landed on my head too
but anytime you have a little spill, it pushes on your collar bone and snap, you can't ride for 2 months
so what do you guys think about them?

I rode with a leatt until I had it push into my throat in a crash. Stopped wearing it after that. I really liked my omega neck brace but I wanted to wear a chest protector and I couldn't get comfortable with both a neck brace and chest protector. So I ditched the braces and went back to just a protector. If I were to go back to a brace it would be omega

I used to ride with EVS R4 but could never get 100% comfortable with it. Maybe it just doesn't work with thor sentinel chest protector. It used to stop me from keeping my head high enough and looking ahead properly. It also did hit my throat hard in the last crash, which was pretty painful. I took it off a few practice sessions ago and won't wear it again. Feel much better on the bike ever since.
