Hey guys,
I am looking at getting a bike for the wife and I see pretty mixed reviews about kx100s for girls. She is 5'3", about 125 lbs. She is a beginner and I taught her how to use a clutch on a KLX125 that I owned for a brief period of time. I think she would like the mellow power of a 4t, but I don't like 4t trails bikes as they are heavy and if she ever wants the power it won't be there. I was thinking about the 100 because I found a smokin' deal on an '07 and I have heard they have slightly more mild power than 85s. Also, I would put a 12oz flywheel weight on it until she was used to the powerband a little more. Any opinions on whether this is a good idea or not? Thanks

In my case I got my wife a sweet CR80 that I rebuilt and had totally setup for her size, etc. Because of the nature of the 2 stroke power band she ended up hating it. It was difficult for her to ride, which meant my riding wasn't as much fun.
Sold it and got her a 2003 XR100...perfect bike. She can start it, ride it, not to mention its one of the most reliable bikes ever made.
Lots of women do really well on the 2 strokes but in our case it just didn't work out.
