So I'm a new rider and the last few times I rode I had a problem with the clutch. I would kicks start it, pull the clutch in, and shift. But then I would let the clutch out and give it has but it would wheelie up so matter what I tried. What are some techniques to getting the bike to start rolling smooth? I was on pavement and it was only really my first time. But I'm taking it out this weekend and I would like to have some tips to keep on my mind. What I tried was walking the bike to help get it rolling, and sitting more forward on the bike. But I'm only 125 so that doesn't matter so much. Thanks guy
Clutch control is the key, try to let it out slower/smoother and be smoother with the throttle. One fluid motion. Let out the clutch slow until it engages then let it out more. At the same time roll slowly with the throttle.
Give it time, don't get discouraged because you will look back on this email next month and laugh because by just practicing you have mastered it!
