Hey Guys!
I live in Denmark, near Copenhagen.
As a part of my graduation in may, I have planned to travel to Los Angeles CA, in September. Therefore I am going to stay in the states for about 9 months, and go to school everyday from 8 to 1. which gives me a lot of sparetime. I have been riding dirtbikes for 5 years now, so its not like i am a rookie or anything. I just don know how i works in the states.
In Denmark you sign up at a mx track, and pay for a year of membership. Then you pay DMU which is like ama, for a mx license. What would i need to do, to be able to ride in the states?

Zaca Station Mx _ $40 Highly Recommend _ Bucket List Track
Piru Mx _ $35 For this price I'd rather go somewhere else.
Gorman Track (Quail Canyon mx) is state run and $5 Need a sparky. Prep Tues & Fri
Don't need an AMA license unless you want to ride ama or district races.
When you pick up a bike ... if used .... Make sure it's / or can be CA registered and you'll have no problems hitting the legal trails also. The bike doesn't need to be registered to ride the local privately owned So cal tracks.
Keep us updated on arrival and getting a bike and we can met up.
Peace
I am going to buy the new ktm 250-Sxf 2016. In Denmark I have the 2015. But there has been a lot of improvements from the 15 to the 16 which I guess you are already familiar with. So that's my plan. Then I'll get it shipped back to DK after my stay. But thank you a lot! I'll start without the license, and only hit up the tracks and trails no races. But you mention I should I get it registered to ride the trails right?
I don't think you will have a choice about registration.
The dealer will take care of it.
The Shop
Piru and LACR are only open on Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday.
Milestone is open everyday.
Hey mattyhamz2 sounds like we frequent the same places ? Let's do a moto sometime ! Ive been off the bikes for 7 months with a blood clot. Rode Bean on saturday first ride back. Ready for the track and since Gorman is so damn cheap i might hit it on Thursday, cause i heard they close the track and do a so called deep rip on weds. Have you experienced this ? Ive only been on a tues and fri for the normal prep days. But obviously am out of the loop with the clot deal. Will also hopefully ride with my son somewhere, over the weekend. Peace
They were very talkative and gave me some really awesome info. For the past 4 years they have been in the process of trying to hire someone that is solely dedicated to the track.... THEY HAVE FINALLY BEEN APPROVED !. You can imagine all the hoops they have to jump through to try and create a brand new position at the state level. This guy would be in charge of prepping and keeping up with track maintenance. He would be there 4 days a week at the least. I told them to hire someone who rides and loves the sport of MX, that way he will be dedicated to the prep and design. They also mentioned they have plans to add ONE MORE TRACK, behind the VINTAGE track. This would be an INT> track and as they put it, would allow for them to build bigger obstacles on the main track. One more thing is they were all talking about lights on the main ! I guess they held a night event there last year, that came back with a positive response at the state level. WOO HOO let's ride boys !
