2-Stroke Jumping Tips

I can't jump a 250 2-stroke in the powerband with the front end going up. I believe my body position is correct, chin over the bars, legs bent, back straight. I was wondering if I'm too deep into the powerband? Do you guys jump in a certain part of the powerband?

I have been screwing around learning jumping techniques on a 2T 125. For me backing off the throttle and coasting up a jump kills the launch even if going fast. Blasting straight into a jump full tilt in the powerband throttle steady will also have a tendency to kill the launch for me. This past week I started messing with a technique of coming into jumps with around 70% of the powerband then feather the clutch and blip the throttle to about 90% of the powerband as the bike comes up the ramp then release the clutch as the front wheel approaches the lip with throttle steady. This had the effect of lofting the front of the bike and actually creating a good arch up and out. Timing is critical. The key is to feather clutch in, goose the throttle and release the clutch quick right as the front wheel is about to come off the ground. What I think is going on is as the bike is going up the jump the front wheel is coming up and blip of torque pushes the front up more creating loft. This technique worked for me on a few different jumps including one jump I always had my front wheel dropping down into an endo like situation upon landing. Combining speed and timing the blip was key to getting the loft on that jump. I am just beginning jumping so maybe my technique is unique. There may be other more proven techniques out there.
