rmz250 problems

Hi guys I bought a 2010 rmz 250 last week an had first race today but I came off it an it wouldn't start kick start wouldn't budge .got it home managed to rock it in gear an it freed the kick start an started for 10seconds now had gone back to not starting . First thoughts was seized. Any ideas or advice would be brilliant

Could be a number of things.

Drain the oil and look for metal. Are there 2 sumps on that bike? That would direct you toward crankcase or tranny.

I would never buy a bike used and head to the track without pulling covers and checking things.

Could be a clutchbasket failure to cam chain to a doctored up crank piston assembly.

Or as simple as the kickstart gear put in wrong.

People will do anything to get a bike just running for resale.

A bolt backs off on the inside of the kickstart assembly causing it to not kick over. A known issue with the '10 and some early '11 models. I'd get the updated parts. Back then Suzuki sometimes helped with the repair (did with my friends new '11 at the time). You can be sure they won't now on a 5 year old bike that never got the upgraded part..
