I put red duct tape around my boot once thinking I'd get the same effect, it didn't work. i gotta get the real deal i guess.

Yes it is the smaller model transponder that Trackside sells.
It is used mostly on smaller venue tracks, am stuff.

We use them at the track I workj for, it is great for folks to be able to see their laptimes and excellent for the scoring.

That is why you only see them on the left boot, some of the bands are red, some are black.
