So Gypsy Tales pod cast came up on my you tube feed. I have only watched a hand full of them. This was interesting how Todd Waters breaks the strategy all down. Jett going 1-1

If J-Coop is on the team for USA, then mix in a front runner from the MXGP side. This will be such a crazy good race ! Not sure if anyone saw this or made a post about it but it was REALLY cool visualizing what Todd was explaining.

Hell a Supercross DES nations would be Dope also ! AUS CAN USA would be heavy favs but anything could happen!
Just thinking some of the MXGP regulars will skip the race since it's in the middle of their championship. IMO, that takes away some of the excitement from the event.

I guess we'll see.

Better to go forward with it then go two years without it…but then I’m old school and think the MXDN is the pinnacle of the sport…We are missing top riders every year and this year will be no different

I can see your reasoning for it, but next year there will be reasons why our top guys cant go or dont want to go. The timing is never gonna work out well for americans and euros both it seems. Thats a shame.

The American riders don't have it in the middle of their championship. Missing the race for the Monster Energy Cup and three-months-prior SX testing is not the same thing.

It's not just his reasoning, it's unpopular with the GP riders as it falls in the middle of their season. Just as it would be unpopular with US riders if it was held in the middle of theirs. MXoN only works because it's an end of season race and it won't work unless it is.

With the top 10 GP guys possibly not racing USA could have a walk in the park this year. But I feel the GP guys will go nfg about season points and show up for their country regardless.

Correct, it’s not the same. For better or worse the SX series is the premier one here in the States. There’s only MX for the MXGP competitors.

Having the MXdN in the middle of the only season for MXGP racers isn’t really an option for those contending for the title.

Yes I'm aware of everything you said. I assumed those were at least some of the reasons Maverick said what he did. I know all this, but even if it's held at the end of the GP season, it's not great timing for U.S. riders as they have several weeks of waiting after the last outdoor national, and its hard to maintain full race fitness unless you are racing consistently. Additionally, supercross season is right around the corner, and teams priorities supercross, so the riders are under pressure to prepare for supercross. Not the mxon or outdoor skills. Theres also the monster cup. The top Monster backed riders are under pressure to race it and do well. The timing of the mxon isnt optimum for everyone no matter what, so i dont see why we should scrap it for another year. That was my point. I am fully aware that it is not good timing for GP riders this year, and im aware of why.
