What would happen if...

...we went back to the "old days" and ran each moto 45mins? do you think anything would have changed at Glen Helen? I still think Villopoto would have won (probably by an even larger margin), but what about the next few guys? would everyone have held their positions, or would guys have faded? and in the lites, would we have seen some of the guys like Metcalfe or Weimer (that are in great shape) move up a couple spots? what about as the year goes on? imagine 45 mins at southwick in the heat, then do it again! hard to imagine but that's what the guys did in the 70's on bikes with aircooled motors and 7 inches of travel. seems strange that as the bikes and riders got better, the motos got shorter.
