Knowing that the points leader fell 3 stories out of the sky and still got up and finished high enough to keep his points lead? Or that the guy who is supposed to be scared of his own shadow stuffed him in a corner and climbed to within one point in the championship points?

Some people really look into these things too deeply. As a competent, collected, intelligent racers - things like this don't get as mental to guys like CR, RV, or RD as much as you gum wagons would like to believe. They each certainly know that the only thing they can control is the motorcycle; everything else is just a distraction.

RV knows that RD's fitness is outstanding. I think that is the reason that RV goes balls out at the beginning of the races to get a gap. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. RV still had the fastest lap barely, but just dropped the anchor with about 5 minutes to go. I really think RV used a lot of energy that first moto trying to find passing lines out there. You could see him get out of the main line to try and pass Metty. Every time he'd go for it his bike looked like it sank. Out of all the races this year Millville moto 1 was the most crucial for a top 3 start. Had the track not been so 1 lined the first moto I bet Dungey could have gotten around Reed. Nothing screwed with RV that he didn't already know. I still got my $$ on RV.

That leg is a factor also. Seeing his x-rays at supercross it's kinda nuts that he's back at this level already. I've never seen so many plates and screws.

That's what they race for 1st.

Sadly the outdoors is just a bonus on a SX championship year and for others a chance at a consolation prize.

I prefer moto, but this is just the way it is.

Not trying to bash Villo here but when was the last time he was leading an outdoor race and someone ran him down and passed him that late in the moto?
