Interesting interview. Trying not to bash but a couple if issues with this interview. WMR standing for "Win More Races" if you have been around FL for awhile you know it was "Willie Manning Racing" Great suspension guy and motor guy as well but he lost the money battle with Bob.

Why have a metal gas cap when it is 10 times heavier than the KTM stock one?

Not to mention theirs vapor locked on a rider at gatorback during the mini o's.

Bellone has a problem with them, anytime they or Nihlio concepts are mentioned he/she makes these comments about their service and abilities

I had WMR service my forks and fix broken gears in my transmission when they were still in the Lake Worth location. They did good work for me. I have not been to the new shop in Stuart since the move.

However I am still mad at Willie. One Saturday night back in 1986 at Ft. Lauderdale Lockhart stadium he mistakenly signed his brother Chris up for the "mini B" class instead of "mini A". I ended up second that night and was robbed of my well deserved first place trophy by a kid who should have been racing expert. Laughing Tongue

Oh Lockhart stadium. Pete Scalzo. Man that was my local track I grew up racing. Even got picked up by Dean Baker a few times when parents could not drive. I learned how to ride/race there and Copans road when I was a kid. I think I am better than others at Sx style tracks because of Lockhart, Air Dania and our private sx track. At about 40 I still have not been to a track where I didn't jump everything and with in a few laps usually. I still think I am 18 under the helmet I guess and tell all my friends my bike is like a fighter jet and I can't get enough. Good times. Boca Honda was the hang out.
Willie did a great job with my suspension quite a few times over the years and was a really helpful suspension guy. He always took care of us. I saw him at a few big fishing tournaments but never got a chance to say hello but am hoping to.

Really? I don't talk too much about them but I do question that why would a real racer add weight to a race motorcycle? That's what you are doing when you buy their gas cap. Not to mention it vapor locked on some of their riders at last years mini o's.

I've heard a couple different tales of the Willie and WMR split. I've known him for decades and hope he's doing well.

Lockhart, Air Dania and the Palm Bch. tracks bring back a lot of great memories.

Agree, when Willie was wrenching their stuff worked. Ask Goerke if Bob or Willie worked on his stuff. Bob looked over Willies shoulder to try to learn.

My opinion is this:
Bob is a salesman, nothing more. He learned what little he knows about motors & suspension from Willie Manning (WMR Willie Manning Racing) He (bob) was the money, Willie was the brains. They had a falling out and Willie sold his name.

The Bailey's (Jordan Bailey #133) knew that KTM's were the best 65's to be on and WMR happened to get their name on his bike because they are somewhat close in location.

People figure if Bailey is on it then that is going to make "my" son faster and the rest is history. (He won LL's) and people think WMR had something to do with it. He won the stock class. They had a CC machine and are able to produce some slick looking products (I will give them that credit.)

Jordan had a great looking 65, but definitely not the fastest. Jordan proved this summer that he can beat a KTM 85SXS on a RM. Now he is on a KTM because it does provide an unfair advantage in the stock class not that he needs it. Their suspension is a joke just ask any of the local fast guy's that have dealt with them. It's set by your weight, that’s it!

You're right, you don't sound bitter at all.

And bumping your own thread with an "Oh well!" after a day on page 3 helps your case even more.
