Stone Edler's Cancer and Benefit Auction - now LIVE! Click to Enter.

**UPDATE** Donations can also be sent by PayPal to the Edler's account at: tonyamedler@gmail.com 100% of the proceeds will go towards the Edler family to help with medical bills. Every penny counts, so even if you can only spare a few bucks, any amount is greatly appreciated!

Stone Edler started his normal day of practice @Mtf and at the end of the day Life had changed. Stone was preparing for Loretta Lynn's 3 weeks before on a Saturday when he took a digger resulting in a black eye. After getting back to the facility Stone began spitting up blood. Just to be safe the crew @Mtf loaded him up and headed to the hospital. The blood was coming from the eye injury resulting in blood dripping down his throat which was the reason for the blood he was spitting up. But.....What doctors saw on the MRI was shocking to say the least. Stone has a tumor that has taken over his right lung, Pressing against his wind pipe and trying to do what cancer does at it's best...spread.

Stone's Mom drove to Mtf to pick him up and get him to Children's Hospital in New Orlean's La. After test were done Stone was diagnosed with Hodgeskins Lymphoma (Cancer). They started a very aggressive chemo program the following day. He's went through 2 rounds of chemo and the 3rd round starts Aug.8th, If after that round they don't see significant changes they will start other treatment options. One thing he wanted to be sure and do was get to Loretta's and pick up his bib's he earned this year. He also made a lap around the track to a standing crowd around the fences clapping and cheering him on. Stone's a multi time National Champion in many classes and he was also chosen to the MX Masters Team to represent the USA in Europe a cpl. times. On and off the track you won't meet a nicer, more polite or well mannered, respectful kid anywhere.Stone's truly in a fight for life and needs all our thoughts and prayers.

That was tough to read. My son was talking about this at the supper table one night and we have been wondering what has been going on. I have a son that is a cancer survivor and people have no idea what these poor kids have to go through to survive.
Another thing we all have to remember is that any one of us could wake up tomorrow and find out we have the same thing.
I will be in for the auction and will do what I can to help.

Team sakai racing If you decide to have a ride day at a local track let me know. If it's in my area I will use any connections I have to help. If its anywhere in the south east I would also make sure that I will do what ever I can to help. This would be a great way to raise money to help but more importantly it would be a great way to let Stone and his family know that we care about them.

Wow, that is brutal. I assume he's getting great care from specialists, I've met so many kids and their families over the years at Loma Linda Children's Hospital and it just tears you apart to see the pain these kids and their families go through.

He's being treated at Children's hospital in New Orlean's currently Steve. After this weeks round of chemo doctors and family will go over the latest information and go from there with options as far as treatment and where Stone may end up for treatment. Either way we know he's in the battle of his life and with God's blessing and all our support Stone will beat this crap and return to a normal life. Thanks to everyone who attended Rock River Yamaha's auction at the ranch. We truly appreciate your help and support. we're looking about mid week after Southwick to kick off the auction and it will continue to run until we run out of items. Along with autographed riders items we will have a large amount of product donated by companies in and outside of the industry. Steve, Did you get my email?

Also, Talking with Stone's mom we were talking about the hospital trips from Stone's racing etc.. and Tonya said Mike, This is the first time I can say that a crash from riding a motorcycle probably saved my sons life and I'm so Thankful for it.

Items started arriving today and we have our PR guy headed to Southwick to pick up items from riders that have committed to the auction. We'll do our best to start it off mid week after Southwick or so and will continue to add items as we go. Thanks for the question thumpa and hope you and the back are doing well.

Stone and his family are in our thoughts and prayers as I can kinda relate to what they are going through. I am also fighting cancer myself right now. My wife noticed a marble size not on my mid back the end of march. Needless to say I went to see several doctors and they told me it was a lipoma and completely harmless. My gut told me otherwise as it was growing daily. So approximately 8 weeks after my wife found the marble size not I went into surgery to have it removed thinking it was a lipoma and harmless. At this time the knot was the size of a grapefruit. The surgeon cut me open and immediately realized it was not a lipoma but a form of cancer. It was sent off to the pathologist and came back as what is known as a rare form of cancer called lipo sarcoma. It can't be treated with chemo or radiation as statistics show this form of sarcoma doesn't respond. Needless to say in the last 2 1/2 months I have had 4 surgeries one being a emergency surgery due to internal bleeding from a wound vac change where I almost bled to death. I now have lost all the muscle on my right side in my mid back and when the nurse takes the wound vac off you can see my ribs exposed. I have a 4inch by 8 inch oval shaped hole in my back also. They still have not gotten all of the cancer cells out yet so we are in a holding pattern at the moment to see what the remaining cells are gonna do. The next step for surgery would be to remove 3 of my ribs so they can go deeper to remove the rest of the contaminated tissue. It is a long hard road but stay strong and stay positive. Live each day to its fullest and take it one day at a time.

This post was in no way shape or form intended to hijack this thread. Yes I am going through tough times but I couldn't imagine if it was my kid that was going through what I am. Stay strong STONE! You can beat this.
