Man at first I was like this is one sketchy freakin track but after watching all 4 motos today I realized that Pala is probably the most exciting track on the circuit for fans. I can't believe how high speed it is and it was in real good shape today. Lot's of line choices, huge jumps, crazy rhythm section. Overall pretty impressed. That's a track that is really suited more towards pro riders.

It's gnarly for the average rider but for a pro it's like Disneyland, little sketchy at times but I think those big jumps must be fun when you're at Wilson or Villopoto's speed.

The only part of the track I could really see was that gnarly section Reed, Wilson, and Musquin hit. And that huge double in the back section. I actually had a good spot near the Whoop section but they freaking parked a tractor right in front of me..

In 30 plus years of attending mx races this was the worst for spectating. Always something in the way of your view.

Had to wait and see the DVR recording of the race to see anything.

That is too bad because it came off great on TV , Hope they fix the spectating next year because it looks like a great track to go see the race up close.

Great to see a track that the average local A rider would not attempt most sections/combinations that the Pro's did. It also made the scissor lift, zoom lense, camera mans work easier. Not surprised that the spectating sucked. Most nationals do.

There were sections of that track that looked pretty narrow on TV. That hill where Dungey jumped off the side of the track was one of them. That could have been a pretty dangerous situation had he not landed in an open area. Hopefully, they'll widen spots like that for next year.

The complaints about spectating, what is it your seeking at a live event (that isn't SX)? Any track I go to, I pick a good spot and watch what happens THERE. Some tracks you can see more than just one section, but if you want to see all the action, DVR is where it's at. I've also been to baseball games, football games and golf events and at none of them is TV not the best way to see everything..with replays even! I got to watch a Dan Marino 2-minute drill for a score once from the 10 yard line of the OPPOSITE end of the field. Nothing like being there and watching the jumbo-tron to see what the hell just happened.

Ive watched nationals at Glen Helen, Washougal, Budds Creek, Gatorback(back in the day), and now Pala. I know thats not a very large sample, but the spectator viewing at Pala was by far the worst. BTW, there is no way Pala comes anywhere near GH as a national level event. Not even close!

Nationals @ Glen Helen, Saddleback, Carlsbad, Las Vegas, Hangtown and GP's at Hollister. Never had so many thing blocking the view. (Vegas is the only one that was close, because it was flat.)

I understand I'm not going to see everthing, but do we really need motorhomes/trailers in the infield blocking views of the track?

I agree. The track is great. It has a little bit of everything; sand, hills, jumps, big ruts, fast sections, very technical sections.

It's built into a natural hillside.

No, it doesn't have trees. No it's not an old track with lots of history. They still need to work on the traffic situation.

It does have great viewing up on the hill.

That track is beastly, especially the whoops.

I thought it looked a bit narrow and hard to pass, but it did make the racing more exciting.

The series would be much more successful if they moved all the races closer to major cities, and more dense populations. Pala proves that it can happen. You can build a great outdoor track from scratch, just as you can a supercross track.

That track is well suited to tumble weeds. It's the MX park of Bagdad, right here in the USA... Were ticket prices lower than at the other tracks because of it being on basically worthless land???

looked great on the tube.

If Washougal ever looked better on tv, I'd quit going.
