What was everyone's opinion of the new timing format after actually seeing it in SX? Didn't love it or hate it and didn't really make a difference for me.Watching the 450 main still left feeling like it was a waste of time after Kenny went off.

I was at A1 and I thought the heat races went by SUPER fast! As far as the mains, I think lappers could play a bigger role at another venue when lap times are shorter. However, I do agree that once the leader is gone, the race isn't as exciting to watch. That's why we left with about 4 minutes to go....helps us beat the traffic heading out.

Since both mains worked out to be 15 and 20 laps, I don't think last night is a good example. This question would be easier to answer after a round like Santa Clara 2016.

VitalMX, the place for people who hate MX/SX racing...

We left after the race, barely had any traffic.

As for the OP question, it didn't make much of a difference last night because of the track, but I also noticed that the heat races flew by, though they retained the same schedule and timing. At a shorter track, more lappers and way more track deformation will make a big difference.

Just felt odd not seeing what lap they were on.

I didn't see it in person, just live on TV, but it seemed like the heats went by very fast! I think the timing was good for the LCQ, those short races for the last spots always bring excitement! Be interesting to see how it plays out with a shorter track with around 48 to 50 second lap times.

Last night the timing ended up equaling the exact number of laps run last year in the heats, semis, LCQ's and the mains....so it didn't make any difference for A1
