NEW ALPINESTARS SM-5 HELEMT

Has anyone had a change to try one on. I am a dealer in Washington State and they just started trickling into our dealership... my first impression of fit is terrible. Super uncomfortable FOR ME. Just wanted some input from you guys to see what the masses thought! Thanks Guys!

I’m a bell guy all the way but we got some of the SM5s in on Monday and really like it. Fit on my head great, I still think the MX-9 from Bell is a better helmet at a better price, but the SM5 isn’t bad at all. Not sure on what goggle figment is like.

Check and see if the top liner piece is still adjustable like their current helmets. That adjustment can take the helmet from doesn’t fit worth a crap to perfect.

It isn't adjustable like the SM8 and SM10. It has most of the other features though. Fit was fine for me but I have a pretty 'normal' head shape.

I have one and I absolutely love it. Super comfortable, vents well. I wear prospects and the goggles fit really good which surprised me. They are NOT adjustable like m8 or M10 but I’m a large and I have the m5 and the M10 both are super comfy for me. Hope that helps

I just saw these retail for $230. Are they considered equivalent to the m08/m10? Looks like weight is very similar.

It’s a poly shell but still has a 4 density EPS like the other models. It doesn’t have mips but it does have its own version of rotational management by having a liner attached by elastic connectors and they actually polish the inside of the EPS so the liner can slide on it. It also has a detachable visor system similar to the other helmets as well.

So yes it’s still a very safe helmet and stacks up extremely well to other helmets in that price range.
