I'm sure this will turn into another GP vs AMA mud-slinging fest but I figure I'll get a few good answers too.

I know he came over and raced some AMA nationals and SX, what made him go back to the GP's? Did he get a better deal?

Saw him race at Freestone, I like watching him ride and his interviews make him seem like a good level headed kid.

What's the scoop?

I have no idea about the money side but the team/bike is top notch. Searle and Townley took the same deal, so I imagine that team was throwing some cash around. Pingree said in an off-season interview he didn't know where that GP got it's budget, but it was something TLD couldn't compete with in terms of salary to hold onto Townley.

My guess is Max went to ride GP's because it was the best deal he could get, full PC bikes with CSL Kawi and he values a world title in his resume.
I'm very impressed witht he way he's started the GP series, consistantly up front and only just missed out on a podium when he scored same as Tommy Searle but lost out to TS better result in moto2. If he could have just held of Osbourne he'd have got his first GP podium.
