Hey, I wanted to tell you guys about a new park my family went and visited this last weekend. It was a great park to let the kids ride some tracks and they have tracks for more advanced people also. We camped out there, rode some trails, and fishing. They had a concession stand with some awesome BBQ for really great prices. So you don't have to bring food even. If you get close to Okeechobee and want a great weekend try it out!

Yea that place is a lot of fun. Really fun off road park with a great mx track, mini track and trails for miles. We are real lucky to have the last track to still be open in south Florida. I hope it gets support and stays open because the tracks are disappearing quickly.

They are supposed to be building a flat track here soon. He's really trying to get more people out there. He'd like to start having races, but there has to be more people asking for them. He's also glad for the rain!

As many times as people have tried, flat track has never been truly successful here.
It'll be popular for a couple months, and then dies

Seen it all over the state, same thing over and over, from Hialeah to Barberville

They;ll be wasting money on a flat track, be better off to put it into other aspects of the facility

I remember Pete Scalzo's attempts at pushing speedway racing in South FL in the late 80's. Didn't last long from what I remember.

Pete loves speedway and has tried many times to bring that here, and it failed every time
Flat track has also failed every time.

Really the last track in south Florida, is Thundercross not considered south Florida? I have been out to Thundercross the last few weekends but will be getting over to L-cross here really soon! L-cross looks really nice and is only about 30 minutes from Thundercross, we plan on doing some camping there and checking out the trails as well as the track. South Florida does need to support these two facilities with most of the others going out of business.

I think the owner was saying something more like a berm track in the back open area just for another option to practice on. The cost of the insurance sounded unreasonable and more than he would make on average weekly.

Was going to go there this weekend to ride but decided not to after checking on their pricing. My whole family goes with me to ride which includes 4 people who don't ride. I was surprised to find out that a non rider (spectator) pays the same as someone riding. $25 bucks per person to sit and watch me and my son ride is really steep compared to other riding locations. Most of the time its 5 bucks for a spectator.

Maybe I misunderstood the guy on the phone even after asking twice, is this what it was for your non riders in your family?

Hopefully I misunderstood, Im all for supporting the local tracks but $25 bucks compared to $5 is a bit steep for spectating on a practice day.
