Anyone know of other boot manufacturers who incorporate a hinged ankle design into their boot (similar to Sidi's)?

Thanks. Was trying to avoid the $500 price. I am a bit partial to Sidi's, but I'll have to go somewhere and try the SG-10. The Scott's still $500, but that is one clean looking boot! Sidi has some lower offerings like the Charger which might be ok.

My last pair of boots were the Sidi Crossfires, I now have Gaerne SG-10 and love them also. Oxstar has a hinged design that is a little cheaper also. I bought my SG-10 from Motosport.com and got them on sale for $330.00. I love em I love em I love em.

You actually like the Scott boot ? If you do then don't pay attention to the suggested retail
price. There are shops out there that can't give those things away( I know of one in DFW
in case you were coming for the ride day). Check Ebay too.

I believe 661 makes a hinged boot also.

It's been discontinued, so you might be able to get some for a pretty good price. It's the Hurricane boot.

You know that you can wear Sidi boots for a very long time, what with the bolt-on replacement parts available?

Love my tech 10's but they are also kinda hinged on the inside with the bootie thing but they aren't cheap, but you could also check out the ARC boots, they are hinged and inexpensive.

My next pair of boots will be Sidi or Gaerne. Hinged boots feel broke in with the first wear.

Scotts are the way to go. they stood behind ours and we couldn't be more happy with them. Even at 500.00 (cheaper if you look around) they could be the last ones you buy. Anything that wears out is replaceable. My kid tried them at a Scott ride day and we bought them immediately. The selling point was.....he came up way short on a triple/quad section. In the air he said to himself, "there goes my ankles". He said he didn't ever feel it below his knees. They're good.

I've been pretty happy with my Oxtar's, and the Pro 2's are supposed to have fixed my only real bitch- the buckles.

The cheapest in hinged boots that I know of are the ARC MX240V's, sold by RockyMountainMC.com for $180.00 I have read good things about them, but at 1/3 the price wouldn't expect them to be in the SIDI range for quality.

that brand again. what do the people that have Sidi crossfires think of them????

I love my Crossfires TAs. After 10 years in Astars I slipped my feet into the Sidis and never looked back.

Another vote for the Sidi Crossfire - by far the most favorite boot that I have owned. Comfy and very durable.
