I have all the respect in the world for K-Dub, and I love watching him ride. BUT, in my opinion, the fill-in ride should have gone to Regal.

Dont know if Kevin wanted to ride the Outdoors or not, but Regal finishing consistent 4th, 5th, 6th place as a privateer.......

C'mon Honda, give the kid a break.

doubt it. Just because a factory comes knocking doesn't mean you abandon ship midway through a season and open the door.

Plus, I believe he isn't allowed to use some current Honda sponsors.

wouldn't take it unless it was with a deal next season. he's just now getting in a full season on the 450. Just barely getting his feet wet.

Regal's step dad said in the infamous interview that he goal for this year was a low pressure ride to allow Kyle to develop. Factory Honda is not excatly a low pressure deal even as a fill in slot. Even if they don't put the pressure on you I am sure it could create self induced stress to perform and live up to the reputation that comes with a team like Honda.

He also said that throughout kyle's amateur carrer that he was never the big name kid being groomed with all the support and attention and that he was simply not ready for all that yet.

I'm betting that there are pre-conceived notions on BOTH sides of the issue & I'd be surprised if Regal did get the offer.

K-Dub makes sense for Red Bull & Honda.

100% agree w/KDub as the fill in. Honda is a very conservative company. Regardless of his ability, Regal brings way to much baggage to the table and other than a podium on his home track is a 6-10 guy. KDub is a moto legend, knows the drill, represents well, will have the 3rd longest autograph lines and should be in the top 5 by the last 4 races. Absolute no brainer for Honda.

Regal would be stupid to take that ride in light of the way he's riding on his own bike. He'll get his chance next year.

Because he burned the last bridge...He can't take that ride if he wanted to. Part of the deal when he parted ways with Valli is he can't use any of the teams sponsors... Dunlop tires sponsors Honda as they do Valli (He runs Pirelli on his bike now)

I will shit a brick if he ever gets a ride..seriously.

I'm sure Honda's lawyer's could shoot holes in any contract Valli had, if Honda wanted him, they'd have him (or will have him).

Good thing for that burned bridge.....now he's top 10 and that's after missing one race.
If he was on Team Honda, Dunlop could get Valli to tear that up in a nano second. Kyle has had offers but he is staying where he is for this year, end of story.

Honda needs a factory bike on the track, thats it. Calling K-Dub, Honda gets a handshake deal done and they have no worries, not clauses in the contract. Regal is riding good, but his "program" might worry Team Honda. I could see it now, Showa needs a restraining order keeping Lewis from being closer than 100 yards to a set of their factory suspension. Merge and Co. are not allowed to be within 100 yards of a Honda factory engine. Honda knows they can send a test bike to K Dub and not worry about anyone tearing it apart to see what inside it, or even change it. I think Honda/KTM/Suzuki made notes of this kind of drama a few years back, didn't they?

So why don't they want him then? He would be a logical choice.. Honda is avoiding it because of the reputation he/ his step father has....

Alessi can win and has won races. Do you think Regal can? Not yet... and he probably never will because of what happened with Valli. It sucks, but they have no one to blame but themselves. A ton of guys have shitty rides that they are unhappy with, the kid is young he could of just rode out his year and got on another team.

WFO..I don't believe he has offers from a factory level team...sorry.

so far the only "changes" that Lewis has made seem to be working out quite nicely. Plus Lewis probably has more experience with suspension and motors than most, wouldn't you think? I mean back when he worked for White Brothers he was head of R&D and actually made the pipes for "Factory Honda", used to be Broc Glovers mechanic as well as Mike Fishers over at the Kawasaki place. Helped develop White Power suspension over in Austria for KTM........Lewis has a couple of notches in his belt, but then again you already knew this. Sorry for being redundant.

How much baggage can you get in one Sprinter van? I'm pretty sure Regal is on DeCoster's radar right now.

from what i have heard, hes already getting support from american honda. why step the inherent pressure up if his equipment is already good, which he has proved with his results so far this year

Maybe you know something we don't, but I highly doubt it. Suzuki has limited funds. Especially now that #5 is killing it. Short of him going 1-1, I can't see DeCoster bringing him on board for any reason. They would probably be bitching that Dungey has better stuff before A1.

Plus, I'm guessing Moss's contract is longer than 1 year, don't see them having 2 450 rider's.

Did ya'll forget about Moss (can't rmember if it's Matt that rides factory Suzuki or Jake that's on Rockstar Canidae, or vice versa).

you can't shit where you eat and that's team Regals M.O. Theres no way he gets a factory bike to ride. On top of that, IMO Regal will never get a factory ride until he proves he can race SX. Cooper and Grayck are the last guys that will ever get JGR or Factory type rides because they showed some speed outdoors.

Regal? It hasn't been that long ago that Team Honda had to deal with Pichon and his Dad. I'm pretty sure they are not ready for round 2.
