Distinguished man and Paris-Dakar icon. In France, he is truly a legend of rally ! I am just 33 years old, and he stoped racing bike when I was not even born, but I've watched his races many times. He really was amazing.

Man!...broke both ankles in 87 going for the Dakar win...AFTER he had already won it twice...then won it again on 4 wheels! I wasn't familiar with him but he sounded like a committed racer to the bone. RIP, The Lion of Dakar!
