So, I had a really solid, hard ride yesterday for about...6 hours. Got home, took a shower, hit the sack. This morning I woke up, and I have this aching chest pain that I only feel when my heart beats, which I also feel in my left arm. Didn't pay much attention to it at first, but it's lasted all day now. I know it isn't muscle soreness, I get that all the time. I'm 22, so I wouldn't think it'd be heart problems...but I've been riding 8 years now and I've never had anything like this happen, have any of you guys?

We aint no doctors but your symptoms are worth checking out by a Dr.+3 behind 500 and Rockcrawler. If its gas and a bad burger no harm no foul.

I almost ignored something like that once. Turned out I had a collapsed lung and they said I would not have lived through the night if I had gone home and layed down.

Yeah, reason I asked on here is because I didn't really think it was that big of a deal, and was seeing if other riders experienced anything like this before. Not asking you mongrels what to do, just asking if you've had the same experience as this mongrel. No, my doc doesn't have a message board, but I'm just gonna wait it out and maybe pop an aspirin.

Maybe he doesn't have medical insurance. We might be his only hope.

That's the way it would seem.

Insurance, yes.
Money to be throwing at ER visits over something that may be nothing, no.

Like I said, this thread was more about asking if this is something anyone else has experienced...not asking you to be armchair MDs.

Apparently a place with more fans than riders, who would rather talk about what Bubba's girlfriend's dog is doing.

Thanks to those who actually responded helpfully.

Well, I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn last night, but my crystal ball says your pain is not likely to be cardiac in origin. "Cardiac" pain is not typically intermittent, but rather constant, gripping, substernal in location and aggravated by exertion and relieved by rest.

But then if you were REALLY worried about this, you've already googled it and know this.

If it's persisting at this time, I suggest you run by the ED and get checked out. That's my advice, based on all the initials after my name.

Chest pain radiating to left arm. Doesn't matter what age you are. Get it checked. If it's a strained muscle or damaged rib cartilage, you'll have some bills to pay. If it's a heart attack you could be dead.

No no, I wasn't ragging on you guys that offered advice on whether or not to go to the docs, just saying that thats not why I posted the thread. I do appreciate the advice from everybody. I'm assuming drmarkr is a real doc? If so I'll tell you that it is more constant and is more painful when I stand up, sit down, move around, in other words when I am more physically active.

Watch out, now he is going to sue you when he finds out that it was just a bad McMuffin gurgling up. You subjected him to undue mental strain and anquish.

Cardiac pain is not associated with "heart beating." It's TYPICALLY substernal, gripping or crushing, and constant.

Pain that seems to be worse with cardiac motion would suggest pericarditis, actually, although even that's not typical.

Strange history....all the more reason to get it checked out.

To be serious, two points of advice.

Go to the doctor.

Don't ever ask anyone from motodrive for advice.
