So, I've been watching the Canadians and I have one question. Does anyone live up there? All of the races look like they are being held on a remote planet. The only humans besides the riders out there are the flaggers.
Do any of you canuks go to watch these guys?

the tracks in canada are fenced in a way that doesnt allow many spectators to get very close to the action except in a few places . attendance is no where near an ama national but it is not as bad as it often looks on tv .

Toronto is the 5th largest city in North America. So they do have people that live there. The country is like 1 1/2 times the size of the US. So it's pretty spread out and that may reflect on attendance at there MX events.

But Toronto isn't a motorsports city. Toronto is a hockey town. The Leafs could loose every game and they would still sell out.

I've been to a few rounds in Canada and there are more people there than it looks like on TV. they tend to be spread out a lot more and like people said, it's nothing like an AMA outdoor, but still a good turnout and some of the best racing around. the riders/pits are very accessible and you get to see a lot of good racers.

I beg to differ. Do they not draw a huge amount of spectators for there F-1 race that is held there every summer. Put a NASCAR race there and see how many attend. When the Jays won the series that place was packed for every game. The NFL is putting the Bills in that city for the next five years [they probably will be bought out by Rodgers and moved there after that run] I will guarantee that will be sold out at 250 $ per ticket. If what your saying is to be stereotyped you might as well say Canada is a hockey country and leave it at that. Having said all that I was responding to his ? about people living in the great white north. Not what is there favorite sport.

I was born in Toronto and lived their for 12 years. Toronto in not a Motorsports city. I bet a lot of the fans that came for the F1 race were from Quebec. (Hence why Montreal got the NASCAR Race) Quebec loves anytype of motorsports. The Montreal SX always has a good number of people.

The Jays filled the stands when they were winning. Now hardly anyone goes to the games. Skydome(Or whatever they call it now) is almost empty

Nex trax tried to run an arenacross race in Toronto a few years back, and it failed miserably. Nobody showed up crowd wise. The Toronto SX doesn't exactly sell out either.

and actually I should have said Toronto is a Maple Leaf town not Hockey town.

Let me clarify here. Toronto doesn't have an F1 race, the have a CHAMP Car race. Big difference. Montreal has the F1 race at the circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Attendance at the Toronto race last year depending on who you ask, was anywhere from 150,000 to 200,000 over the 3 days, but officials never seem to nail down a hard number. Montreal F1 2007 attendance was officially 120,000 on RACE DAY. Very comparable with other F1 races world wide.

Racing in general in Canada does not draw huge crowns except for in Quebec, where it's more like Europe as far as motorsports go. The fans there are RAPID and really into it. The Toronto SX does very well, on par with many US rounds as far as attendance. Vancouver however couldn't attract enough people to fill the stadium half full, hence it was dropped from the schedule.

Vancouver could attract more people if everyone wasn't out hugging trees. It's brutal here!!
