I agree, the red background should reflect the current points lead. Not last years winner. The big ASS 1 shows that. But with the AMA when have the rules ever been logical.

They could always go to the Blue-plate w/ Gold Number for the reigning Champ and have the points leader run the Red-Plate (When that person is someone OTHER than the -1- plate...).

I'm jus' sayin'...

i think this year it is going to be like the nationals. CURRENT leader with red.

if that is the case, he should show up to A1 with white and black. not red and white

It changed during the nats though, the points leader ran the red plate. I'm not sure if that was only implemented because there was no defending champ in either class, or if it's a permanent change.
