With the expulsion of the WMA from the premier series. MX Sports is going to have a 6 round 2 Stroke National this year. It will be "open" class and will be held at select events based on Scheduling and entry levels. Whatever rounds have the most pre-registrations for the event will get the races.

Format will be timed practice for entry/gate picks and a single moto for points. Same point system as we are all accustomed to minus the second moto.

This is going to be an experimental series with follow on Championships to be held if entries and attendance warrant keeping it going.

As bad as this would be it is still better than WMA. No ONE wants to watch WMA and very few want to watch a 2 stroke. This should be great!

This "idea" has nothing to do with the manufacturers and everything to do with the will of the dues paying members of the ama. As stated earlier, this is an "open" class and homlogation rules will not apply. It is essentially a run what you brung race, as long as it is a two stroke!

So there is potential to see that Kevin fellow from Cleveland show up on his 125 Kwacker and go head to head with Rallendude on his 500AF. Ala O'Mara/ Thorpe. Fuckin A!

How do you prove such words? Pick rounds based on early registration numbers? How would that make since if we had to wait til April to know about this, then people would last minute make plans to compete? Wish in one hand, shit in the other and see which fills up faster? Hopefully I'm wrong.

Very few want to watch a two stroke?.....sarcasm doesn't come across well on a forumHuh If it's not sarcasm, check out how many entries there were for the 125 stroke race at Washougal. The spectators were decent as well.

Will be cool if it happens and if it does then I hope Budds Creek makes the list.

That track just sings and has a beautiful echo to it when 2 strokes are on the track.

Just imagine if they made it like the "Legends" race at RedBud from a few years back. Invite some of our heroes from the past to race on any 2-stroke they want.

You might even see a few of the bigger teams support and transport bikes for some of the guys.

Based on the number of guys still involved with racing it might not be hard to put 20+ guys on the line.....maybe more.

Now that would be a race that would keep the spectators watching. Might even make for good TV.

Of course random speculation like this is just that.....random and speculative....... but it might be a good way to test the waters a bit.

Think about Buydos or Cotter announcing...." McGrath holeshots with Bradshaw chasing him through the first turn.......

Maybe Dowd could race in the 450 motos and the Legends moto. OK....maybe not.
