nevermind. just googled it. looks like its the "playstation network" of the PC gaming world.
just what i was looking for. found some simulation games i might be interested in with my new computer.

USB Wired Xbox 360 controller. No way in hell I could play it on a keyboard.

you can find a ps2/3 controller port as well, that's what i used when i played MX vs ATV Unleashed and MCM2 online.

however, with the dual analog control, the 360 controller is MUCH better

Steam has it's good points and bad points but overall I've been very happy buying games from them. Unless it's something I really, really want (for instance the upcoming Batman AC or Skyrim) it doesn't really make sense to maybe take a chance and pay full price (as you might with a console game) - because unlike a console game you can't trade it in afterwards. However the up side is that they do have some amazing deals almost every month, sometimes from day to day if they have a holiday sale on.

In regards to Reflex on PC - be warned that a number of people have problems with it, including myself. My PC easily meets the requirements and yet Reflex is pretty much unplayable on the Outdoor courses with a crippling fps. When I investigated at the time it seemed to be a problem that primarily affected quad core and ati users (me again). Whether it's been sorted by now I don't know, I doubt it though. To be fair it was al right for most.

that's a rad setup.

i don't have the money or patience to set up a nice PC for gaming.

but if i did, i would never touch a console again. Crysis, Elder Skrolls, etc are enough for me to never want to play a console game again.

I bought mine a few years ago from cyberpower and got the duel video cards and water cooling, I just got some low dollar video cards with it because I had two bandnew GeForce 8800gt cards so i put them in and it rocks. The steering wheel is the G25 leather force feedback wheel from logitech and you can switch the shifter from paddles on the wheel to a forward and back hand shift lever or 6 speed gated shifter and it has three pedals so if you really want to have fun you can use a clutch.

Nice, I like the cooling set up especially. I also got mine built from Cyberpower in late 08 I think it was.

I was just meant to buy a cheap office PC for my university work, but after years of missing out on all the latest games with my crappy hardware - I just couldn't resist building something for gaming . Having said that it has always been and still is surprisingly competent, so I definitely don't regret it. Kept up with my dust maintenance too, so touch wood it will see me through a couple more years.

Biggest upgrade I need with mine is to retire the ati 4850.

I will admit, Reflex on the PC was a OK Console port job. At first the game ran pretty bad but since they have released several updates that make it much more playable. There is even a patch you download to force the game to run at 60fps at all times (Not Vsync).

Not exact but somewhere between $1500-2000. That is of course when everything was new. It's insane how fast computer parts drop in price after time. Definitely do your research when it comes to hardware release dates before going out any buying a bunch of new shit.

Processor: i7 875k overclocked to 4.2ghz (100% stable and stays cooled underwater)
Motherboard: Biostar T5 XE CFX-SLI
Memory: 4GB DDR3 1600mhz OCZ Black Edition
Video Cards: Two ATI 6870's running in CrossFire Mode
Hard Drive: Two 250gb SATA Hard Drives running RAID 0, total 500gb
Power Supply: Cooler Master 850w Modular Power Supply
Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout fabricated for Water Cool Loop
Cooling: Custom CPU Water Cooling Loop, 6+ fans (system runs extremely cool)

The two 6870's have been able to handle every game I've thrown at it with ease. Depending on the game of course, with max graphics settings I range from as low as 60fps up to 300.

Pretty awesome set-up there, I can see why you need a hefty power supply.

I wonder if I should upgrade to a single ati 6870 (I don't think my motherboard is crossfire compatible unfortunately). It's amazing what my ancient ati 4850 can still do (Two Worlds 2, Dead Space 2 on high with smooth performance) but still, other games like the original Crysis or Witcher 2 - I have to go for medium settings if I want a consistently smooth performance. Bit of research necessary I think, but anyway very cool PC. Cheers man.

Reflex - If it's been updated since then I shall definitely have to reinstall and give it another shot as I haven't played it since release. I was really hoping they'd be a community for it by now with custom made tracks, but it doesn't appear to be possible. Nice one!

Actually the PC Reflex community is growing, fast! and just recently, STEAM allowed players to create custom tracks and skins so with that being, reflex on the PC is only getting better and better. When I get home from work I will post some links to some REFLX Communities.

It's worth keeping in mind that you don't have to spend $1000 - 1500 dollars on a gaming desktop. I mean obviously if you can, then great! All the better. But you can still game perfectly well (most titles med to high) on something 2 or 3 times cheaper. I spent about £750 originally (Nov 2008) and it's only recently Iv'e felt the need for a better card, new PSU.
