I was told I was an "idiot" by a peer for this advice given to a peer... Am I an "idiot"?

Moment of clarity. Actually I knew this long ago...
It took me a few hours to clean the carbon off the 07’ RC/Power valve assembly/flaps... Aluminum/Brass/Copper hand made scrapers and Lye. Don’t use steel/razor blades. The flaps are over $150....
If they are not cleaned/maintained, the carbon builds up, migrates towards the path of least resistance (the seals) and eats the RC shaft seals, transferring the leaking exhaust pressure ultimately to the “RC Valve” cover gaskets... This allows a larger volumetric displacement and diminished/lethargic performance. The engine is exhausting through the RC valve seals and exhaust at this point... Not good.
Keep a very clean RC valve/shaft, and clean/replace/lube seals every time a new top end is done. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avAvkdYa3qM
