Vital MX Pit Bits: 2026 Anaheim 1 - Supercross 6

The new season is upon us, lets get into the latest around the pits from A1

Welcome back to another year of Pit Bits here on Vital MX! To kick things off, let's dive into some of the rigs from parking day on Thursday before moving into a quick peek of the new Ducati.

A1PitBits-193
ClubMX has a very clean and very white look for 2026. This tractor and trailer was originally the Geico Honda teams, with the trailer being built by Elite for the FC team when new.
A1PitBits-196.jpg?VersionId=AZZC8p0oHbhoEOb
Partzilla PRMX Kawasaki showed up at Anaheim 1 with a new-to-them rig. They purchased it this off-season from the now-defunct AJE GasGas team. Prior to that, the trailer belonged to the Star Racing team, but was originally built for the John Force drag racing team. However, JFR never took delivery of the trailer.
A1PitBits-195
The team has brought on a new sponsor in Rokit for 2026. They're competing on 250 West with Chambers and Bourdon, with Harrison and Clason on 450s.
A1PitBits-194
Liqui Moly Beta Factory Racing's rig is just gorgeous in all red. It actually belonged to the idiot typing this feature, and before that, it was Yoshimura Suzuki's road racing rig.
A1PitBits-191.jpg?VersionId=xItTlTOmnAPwVPV.JW8
Very clean, Corey, very clean. Red Bull KTM brings a technical transporter and hospitality rig to each round.
A1PitBits-188
Team Honda HRC Progressive also brings two rigs to each round, under a similar usage as KTM.
A1PitBits-187.jpg?VersionId=1GTn roswEwI0lXFpJtAVDa
One of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's two rigs.
A1PitBits-186
Team Tedder's new rig has gotten some attention; the long-nose tractor helps it stand out amongst the others in the paddock. The truck and trailer are each only a few years old and were originally ordered and used by a professional Snocross (snowmobile racing) team.
A1PitBits-184
Kevin Moranz Racing and CMG showed up at A1 with a semi this year as well. The trailer itself was originally a High Tech trailer used by Factory KTM around two decades ago. Champion has since remodeled sections of the trailer and updated it.
A1PitBits-183.jpg?VersionId=tTMF
Team Solitaire also showed up with a new-to-them setup. The trailer has a long legacy in the pits, being a High Tech trailer that was originally ordered by the Factory Connection Honda team (pre the ex-Geico trailer that Club has). FC actually used this trailer and the newer Elite one side-by-side for a season when the new one was used for 250s, and this older model served the 450 Geico team. After FC, the trailer was used by BTO/Rocky Mountain KTM (Butler Brothers Racing)...before sitting the past couple of years and ultimately making its way to TiLube/Joe Murphy and now onto Solitaire.

The bike that received the most attention over the weekend was the Red Bull Troy Lee Designs Ducati Factory Racing Desmo450 MX. We're going to give you a quick look at a couple of key areas of Barcia's bike in this version of Pit Bits, with a deeper, more detailed dive coming later this week. So keep an eye out for that!

Hello data port.
A1PitBits-181.jpg?VersionId=7vAxBLn0HkI5jNImU CD
The airbox bent is simply a cut in the plastic, then heated and pushed in to create an entry point for air.
A1PitBits-180
The bike featured painted radiator shrouds come race time, but had graphics on for practice and these photos.
A1PitBits-179.jpg?VersionId=R1.YRcOTzlIHA74azja
X-Trig is now supplying the US and MXGP team for Ducati's factory efforts.
A1PitBits-178
The US team's engine is entirely in-house, aiming towards adding front-side torque and initial hit, adding to the stock engine's impressive top-end power.
A1PitBits-176.jpg?VersionId=GlrfpHUSpzTB5eZceJq3EgGk8.Fz 9
While the Ducati's stock choice of tire and supplier in MXGP are both tied to Pirelli, the US program is running Dunlop.
A1PitBits-172.jpg?VersionId=BgPIcp7DVf
Akrapovic is slang for drool...so drool worthy...
A1PitBits-170
Looks like someone has gone full HRC an added frame wings (Ferrandis spent the last two years riding with them at Phoenix Honda).
A1PitBits-167.jpg?VersionId=tsG40A4Brb0iv
Shell has been a long-time partner of Ducati.
A1PitBits-119.jpg?VersionId=Oy
Factory Connection put together a suspension package that relies on the production Showa components with some added coatings. No A-kit or works trickery here.
A1PitBits-163.jpg?VersionId=nZ.Aav.
The TLD Ducati team's carbon fiber goodies are made by the same person who also makes similar parts for HRC, and the Pro Circuit Kawasaki team. CMT USA (not to be confused with the more visible brand of CMT Italy). The man behind CMT USA can be found on Vital's forum as COAL-TRAIN (Jay).
A1PitBits-161
The footpegs and their mounts are one of the few visible factory parts from Ducati Italy.
A1PitBits-153
More CMT USA goodies.
A1PitBits-152
The fully painted front fender is so amazing in person...
A1PitBits-150.jpg?VersionId=4Glcz4RJlGCoF1rjKh o vdS4vBX
ASV levers are equipped to the TLD Ducatis.
A1PitBits-149.jpg?VersionId=l2coPEyWWUW8EG2EvJxdk2
Akrapovic stands are almost as drool-worthy as their exhausts.
A1PitBits-141.jpg?VersionId=zBUobyrWjAvvHGcRZv KGRtYs
We were told that Factory Connection is on the fifth version of their linkage for the Ducati racing program, as they push the envelope of SX further and further. There is now a limited quantity version for customers based on the version before this that is a huge difference when compared to stock. We'll have our hands on one soon to test and to say we're excited is an understatement.
A1PitBits-136.jpg?VersionId=QTBjriZ6hFRoRqMmVQxAe5O4k7TM1b
The crew at HAAN and Dubya USA put together a last-minute hub request for the team, including some changes to the hub that the team requested. While tame by Troy's usual color palette, they look so damn good.
A1PitBits-122
This carbon chain slider bit is the second factory Ducati Italy part we could find on the bike.
A1PitBits-104
The third part from Ducati Italy, one we saw on the MXGP Ducatis this year, is a type of bearing that allows some movement between the engine and chassis through the front motor mount.
A1PitBits-118
As with most, the team has simplified the electronics options on the bars.
A1PitBits-108
Very nice machine, Matty, very nice. Matt Goodbred came to the team this year, after six years at Pro Circuit.
A1PitBits-097.jpg?VersionId=zMf7IQIWua5v6f
Cooper Webb was presented with his Championship ring by Feld at the season opening press conference.
A1PitBits-098
If Coop can get number four, he'll have a whole fist worth of them.
A1PitBits-095
Bet you can't guess who these boots belong to.
A1PitBits-094.jpg?VersionId=0JILA1175Fs3NTQlEC7d2S7K8WAgz
It's taking a bit, but we're slowly getting used to seeing Haiden Deegan in Fox gear.
A1PitBits-092.jpg?VersionId=D eY8yWbj35L4L
Joey Savatgy and Shane McElrath came into A1 with a new look, with the Quad Lock program locking down a last minute deal with FXR.
A1PitBits-091
We really want to see Anderson hit the podium soon, then we can solve the mystery of "Will he hold both a Monster and Twisted Tea on the podium?"
A1PitBits-090
Justin Barcia, get well soon, that was scary man...
A1PitBits-084
Chance Hymas' Showa A-kit shock.
A1PitBits-082.jpg?VersionId=nWPdw6pxdjuqSSfyJ0VmDzqk
Jason Anderson and Ken Roczen utilize a KYB hybrid fork that Mark Johnson from REP concocted up. We'll be testing on here pretty soon.
A1PitBits-086
Speaking of REP, they're also assisting the ClubMX program for 2026. Their roster across the paddock now includes the PMG (HEP) Suzuki team, BarX Yamaha, ClubMX Yamaha, KMR KTM, MotoWhips KTM, and more.
A1PitBits-085.jpg?VersionId=xDHKO gCqbK5aTtLFV
Superlite Technologies is a new sponsor for the ClubMX team, and offers a lightweight seat foam.
A1PitBits-044
After injuring his wrists about two months ago in Australia, Lux Turner was a game-time decision for A1. Having ridden for the first time just a couple of days before the race and decided to give it a go. Keep an eye on Lux over the first half of the season, as he's bound to improve each week with more seat time.
A1PitBits-081
Cooper Webb admitted in the pre-race press conference that he has moved back to the 2025 Yamaha YZ450F, but retains the updated 2026 engine package and 2026 bodywork as the subframe changes allow it all to bolt together. So it may look like a 2026 at a glance, but the main frame is still the 2025 version.
A1PitBits-080.jpg?VersionId=fLcQGeVWKuIvRvXpYSBKhXk735wmEyo
Webb adopted the wing extensions to his frame mid-way through the 2025 season.
A1PitBits-079.jpg?VersionId=7
Aaron Plessinger has had a lot of experience with air forks from his Star Racing days. Since moving to Red Bull KTM, we've seen him revert from spring to air for outdoors the past few seasons, but he has now gone air for Supercross as well. The US side of WP has dabbled more with their air fork in Pro racing the past year or two, while the MXGP has put a lot of effort into the system. In fact, most of the KTM/Husky MXGP riders were on this "works" version last year, which has now made its way to the US. Hampshire debuted it late last year, and now it's getting a bit more traction throughout their teams.
A1PitBits-078
Here's RJ's.
A1PitBits-077
Jared...your glasses are stupid...
A1PitBits-076.jpg?VersionId=jVnFwMqZyfx43hh4yunelsaAumjDN8l
Benny Bloss took a digger right at the start of press day, sadly, breaking his wrist in the process. He's already had surgery and hopes to make it back before the SX season concludes. Get well soon Benny!
A1PitBits-075.jpg?VersionId=XbZ
Jorge Prado's first Fox / Red Bull race lid.
A1PitBits-074
That's some cool detail.
A1PitBits-073
Okay, Corey, you did a decent job there.
A1PitBits-072.jpg?VersionId=sETy5i9Sv4FAqYiykMOWHCdskvcqu
We heard that Justin Bogle might be racing a bit again this year. Not full AMA, but some races. Hope you're enjoying yourself again, Justin.
A1PitBits-071
Hunter Lawrence's Team Honda HRC Progressive CRF450RWE.
A1PitBits-070.jpg?VersionId=cfjpz
You just can't go wrong with a Yoshimura exhaust onboard a CRF450R.
A1PitBits-069.jpg?VersionId=izhx
Taking a little peek at the frame...
A1PitBits-063.jpg?VersionId=iBzGMGJyN.hQkHD4UMD
Yes, the triangle braces that were added are still there, along with some sort of box brace behind them in the center.
A1PitBits-062
The added "plate" of material is also still present on the neck of the frame.
A1PitBits-058
Similar to what we saw in the outdoors last year, Hunter's CRF450R is equipped with a production linkage. However, he has reverted to an 18mm shock shaft after running a production 16mm version in Pro Motocross. When we inquired with their Showa tech about this change, we received the answer we suspected. While the feel of the 16mm shaft was preferred, the rigors of Supercross were a bit too concerning, so the 18mm was put back into play. Yes, 16mm shafts like to bend in Supercross from time-to-time. I've witnessed a couple in person.
A1PitBits-056
What's this bracket on the back of the engine case for? It's a mounting point for the rod that measures the shock's action by tracking the movement of the swingarm on a horizontal plane in relation to the frame/engine case.
A1PitBits-054.jpg?VersionId=rb OuWLqur
Mmmm, more data ports.
A1PitBits-067
Now, a little look at Chance Hymas' Team Honda HRC Progressive CRF250RWE.
A1PitBits-064
Last year, the HRC250s didn't have the same bracing as the Lawrence's 450s, but that little box brace we mentioned is found on the 250s now. However, the triangle corner braces or the plate on the neck of the frame aren't found on these bikes yet.
A1PitBits-068
What's the little cap piece on the vein of the case between the clutch cover and the water pump? That's where the oil cooler lines are inserted, come Pro Motocross or a very wet Supercross. This part of the outer case isn't found on the production cover, as only the center cases are homologated. Meaning outer engine covers can be custom-made or heavily modified.
A1PitBits-061.jpg?VersionId=hGUhmDrWQIAtZwEzMTKqEI ST
Hymas' CRF250RWE features a works linkage arm and rocker.
A1PitBits-060
Nice little touch there by SKDA.
A1PitBits-059
Similar to last year, we noticed the CRF250Rs of Hymas and Shimoda have the option to run air assist, where the Lawrence's 450 forks don't have this feature.
A1PitBits-052
Another look at ClubMX's fresh design for 2026, returning to their white and light blue look from previous years, matching Club's original logo.
A1PitBits-053
Chad Reed is now the ClubMX team's Director of Performance. We spotted him huddling the staff on race day morning for a debrief.
A1PitBits-051.jpg?VersionId=.taS9rDPFEtBwBUDpO7AK4m
Fork warmers! A common sight on air forks (which RJ Hampshire is using this season in Supercross).
A1PitBits-050
However, Mookie's spring forks also featured them. Getting the oil up to temp also effects how the forks work.
A1PitBits-049
Boxo supplies a few of the team's with tools and toolboxes, including the AEO Powersports KTM team.
A1PitBits-048
Speaking of AEO, Jeremy Scism is the team owner and manager, along with owning three dealerships under the AEO banner. One is in the heart of Moto in Murrieta, California. While the other two are in Arizona, in the greater Phoenix area.
A1PitBits-047
Luke Boyk (center) is Pro Circuit's head of suspension, taking over for the retired "Bones" a few years ago. He and Jake LaForm (pictured left) are more responsible for the race team's suspension package this year.
A1PitBits-046
Pro Circuit's transporter driver, Jim, put together this colleague of Mitch Payton's father inside one of the trailer's outside cabinet doors.
A1PitBits-045
Astemo Hitachi has been the parent company of Showa for a few years now and is starting to rebrand some aspects of the suspension side of the business. Thus, the move to the "A" logo we've seen the past two seasons and now the crews wear as well.
A1PitBits-043
Game face.
A1PitBits-042.jpg?VersionId=5PP OaW4skDxhlLULOS5qgpJKj7FpKY
The Man...The Legend of the shutter...The GUV! Yes, Simon Cudby still shows up at Supercross and shows us all up...
A1PitBits-041
Get it, Matty.
A1PitBits-040.jpg?VersionId=AlSbZdKF6WbeLwElMu VZCx
Factory Connection was deeply involved in the entire development of the Ducati for US Supercross use.
A1PitBits-039
It's kind of crazy to see the Red Bull TLD team as a 450-only program now, after over two decades as a staple of the 250 class.
A1PitBits-038
The Ducatis looked great on track at round one, and we're not just talking about the physical design, but the functionality. Congrats to Ziggy and his crew for all the hard work coming together.
A1PitBits-037.jpg?VersionId=XQ3wwYp0NbXj8N
Notice those big goggles? It's a new project about to publicly debut from 6D. There will be more on the Max goggle soon as they have a press intro planned later this month. Until then, check them out on Freddie Noren at the next Supercross.
A1PitBits-036
While Gizmo Racing has been a sponsor of the Rock River team the past few years, for 2026, the owner of Gizmo has taken over the operations of the team, utilizing Rock River's semi.
A1PitBits-035
The Lawrence Fan Zone continues to be popular, being fully sold out for A1. Even with Jett's injury, he showed up and hung out with fans on race day.
A1PitBits-032
The Lawrence Fan Zone also added a giveway this year, color in the CRF110F...
A1PitBits-031
...for a chance to win a CRF110F!
A1PitBits-030
If you're a part of the Lawrence Fan Zone at any round this year, make sure you Color-In to Win!
A1PitBits-029.jpg?VersionId=0CWwyZ2ZG95uGaKCEi sqSOTk
New season, new Red Bull lid for Ken Roczen.
A1PitBits-027.jpg?VersionId=gcCDirws8MH691vJTVcFo
One Industries dropped their latest LE for A1. We dig the leopard print, get it before it sells out!
A1PitBits-026
All three Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing YZ250Fs featured KYB's PSF1 air fork at A1.
A1PitBits-025
Most of Star Racing's 250 program has moved to the new KYB shock with a larger compression adjuster from the production YZ450F.
A1PitBits-024.jpg?VersionId=0b
The forks just keep getting lower in the grate era. Works Connection is holding it down for the Honda HRC Progressive team here.
A1PitBits-022.jpg?VersionId=TCQW9zu1Qaxw7kZmq.
Kitchen was feeling spicy after his heat race win.
A1PitBits-020
Guess who.
A1PitBits-021
The rider wearing the above Crocs is the same man on this toy.
A1PitBits-016.jpg?VersionId=7v2S
WANT.
A1PitBits-004
Austin Forkner and Triumph's 450 debut was quiet but solid.
A1PitBits-015
For now, one Triumph TF 450-X is on track, and that may grow to two when Jordan Smith gets back to the races, and if Forkner stays in the class instead of moving back down.
A1PitBits-014
We'll take a deeper look at Forkner's 450 come San Diego, it was a little dirty when we stopped by.
A1PitBits-013
A1PitBits-012
Akrapovic is gaining a larger presence throughout the paddock, with the additional incoming European bike brands choosing to partner with them.
A1PitBits-008
Similar to last year, Forkner has stuck with spring forks, while we've seen Smith and Swoll trend towards air.
A1PitBits-007.jpg?VersionId=yyEtVBe2LMEQj6DA4
Okay, that ignition cover is just sick.
A1PitBits-003
Will the real Slim Shady please stand up?
A1PitBits-001
A little arm pump there, Jorge?
A1PitBits-088
This man crushed it Saturday night...orange is looking pretty damn good on Tomac. See you all next week in San Diego!
