Scott Sports 2012 Product Intro 4

We recently got the chance to check out the Ketchum, Idaho, home base of Scott Sports, and see what they're up to. As you'll see, we got a good feel for the vibe of the beautiful mountain town, and what they're working on...not just in their Motorsports division, but we also got a taste of the Running, Winter Sports, Cycling, and other divisions. These guys are really busy.

Check out the video below, and you can catch some additional info in the photos and captions that follow.

- More Motocross Videos

Before we stopped in at Scott's headquarters, we got to try our hands at skeet shooting. As you'll see in the video, it wasn't always pretty, but it was definitely fun, and a cool way to get outside and see what a beautiful area their home base is in. Kevin Strikwerda (above) is Scott's Motocross Marketing Coordinator. Click any image for a larger version.

The Scott offices (which also house Acerbis), have kind of a stark industrial feel, but there's some added color in the break room, where employees could also check out Tour stages on TV.

Underneath the offices in an R&D room, there were a cool little Hall of Fame, with shelves full of innovative products.

If you're an old schooler, you'll be familiar with the first Scott boot. These all-plastic boots had a stormtrooper look, and were known for great ankle protection.

Scott's first moto goggles hit the market in 1970, and they've been making great goggles ever since.

Checking out the art department of any moto company is always fun, to see what kind of creative and quirky things they have on hand.

The cycling side of Scott's business is huge, and that's reflected in their employee bike storage area. Ketchum and Sun Valley is a small enough area that many employees can commute to work via bike. Of course, it doesn't hurt that there's a ton of killer mountain biking spots nearby.

We got a sneak peek at the new Scott Tyrant goggle (left), which will come out later this year. It features a brand-new frame, uses the patented (and updated) Scott FIT System, No Sweat foam, and a new adjustable nose guard.

You'll see some of the new gear debut soon at Millville, with the DNA Shred Stix / Star Racing / Yamaha crew.

If you peek around in here, you can get some hints of upcoming gear that the DNA Shred Stix / Star Racing / Yamaha riders will be wearing.

Here are some of the different version of the 250 gear (on the left), and some new 450 gear (right).

Want a visual blast? Here's a peek of some other upcoming colorways. (You'll see more on these soon.)

Skis? Yep, Scott has a full line of skis and poles. The tapered aluminum ski pole was one of their big innovations.

Scott has a huge line of winter and outdoor wear. This is just a small sample of what they've got cooking. You can check out more at www.scott-sports.com.

Scott's cycling line is really vast, from road to mountain bikes. The carbon construction on the frames looks really cool. The bike closest to us is their new Tour-caliber Foil team road bike, and they've got everything from cross-country, to all mountain, to downhill-specific bikes.
