Anybody remember Tistan Charboneau? He raced alongside Chase Sexton on the Amsoil Geico Honda seed team. Only raced the 2016 National season before being dropped. He had 2 top 10s in that season. No chance to grow into the position. After racing for a privateer team and going overseas he retired 3 years after he went pro.

While I agree with the fact that a lot of these kids don’t get long enough to develop as a pro I’m not sure how you are going to eliminate the problem of guys not panning out as pros even if they are successful as an amateur “adult”. It’s all totally situational from rider to rider. Some guys thrive in bad situations and don’t do good when they get more help.
