Hi, Road racing and F1 was heavily sponsored by tobacco companies during 80's and 90's. Were there many mx riders or teams that had tobacco sponsors? I remember at least in europe seeing Camel and Chesterfield logos all over bikes and riding gear, but cannot remember who they were...

Yeah I ve seen that Johnson logo many times but never guessed it was cigarette brand! Thinking back it was kind of crazy to see sports promoting cigarettes because obviously it was targeted to young guys. Suggesting smoking and sports combine, is cool etc. I started smoking Camels by the influence of watching AMA road racing Team smokin joeys Honda...

Thanks for that info. I think it is interesting to know that US riders participated Brazilian championships before their career really took off elsewhere. Cool pics Smile

Thanx for the answers so far Smile I remember seeing some riders also sponsored by L&M... But forgot who..? I know that in Australia there were few riders for Marlboro Yamaha factory Team , Glen Bell being one of then. Not sure if Marlboro sponsored any euro or us riders. All info or comments welcomed!

Marlboro sponsored Finnish F1 riders Salo, Hakkinen and Rosberg. Was the brand involved in Motocross sponsorship?
