It is a internal problem i think due to the regulator over heating. If you know of someone who has a ktm sx or xc 4 stroke from 13 up its all the same regulator try it on your bike and see if it solves the problem.

The main power relay is grounded through the voltage regulator. I had a bike in the shop that i work at that was doing the same thing. When i hooked it up to the ktm xc1 diagnostic tool it would ground the system out and it would power up the relay and run fine till i turned it off. If...

Its a bad voltage regulator. The main power relay is power from that and if that relay isn't clicking on the ecu is not getting powered up. Another way to tell is if the fi light isn't lighting up when you first hit the starter button.
