You are right about that way of thinking. I am busted up pretty good and so are my friends. I'm thinking that I wouldn't mind going from crashing the bike or being eaten by a shark or something spectacular like that, but would be let down if I got smashed driving to/from work.

I've seen a bunch of people break their tib/fid wakeboarding and lots of knee and shoulder injuries mtn biking. Nowhere is safe. I think my worst fear of dying or major injure affecting my quality of life isn't from riding, but is more from something happening in traffic commuting to work. That would suck.

Riding the mountain bike eventually made me get back into riding also. I crashed really bad out in the middle of nowhere cutting new trails and hurt my knee on a rock.
