Wow how cool! I was there trackside at Hangtown 1977 the day the bike debuted. Pat lead the first moto for almost the whole race, then a radiator hose came loose and his bike slowed enough in the closing laps for [I think] Danny LaPorte to take first. Pat was so smooth. I was there to race in the amateur 250A class the day before. First-turn pile up. Got up last... worked my way up to 6th, then crashed on a jump landing... ended up 12th if I recall. Or was it worked my way up to 12th and ended...
