Yes he hit neutral. But them calling it a "false neutral" wasn't bad grammar. They refer to it as a false neutral when the rider does it by accident and it has an unintended consequence while riding.

I was at Ironman this year and was fortunate to meet a respected industry insider at one of the pits. I had a conversation with this person specifically about helmets. Agreed. And going big on a dirt bike has far more serious consequences due to the overall speed it takes (a lot more) and weight of the body and machine (a lot more). Going big on a dirt bike is not at all similar to going big on a bicycle and certainly not on snow
