At full compression the reservoir hits and breaks the top cover of the airbox. I will have to make a custom cover that clears the shock. Do you have dual rate springs on...

9/19/2015 6:37am The bike runs well, a real screamer. I still have some jetting issues to figure out. The gearing from the 125 works well for motocross. I still need to figure out the suspension.Its a fun bike to ride and it looks good! Craig

9/18/2015 9:12pm In 1981 and earlier Yamaha had the brake locating tab at 1 o'clock. In 1982 the YZ250 and YZ490 (I believe the bigger IT's as well) had the brake locating tab at 3 o'clock. The YZ125 was still at 1 o'clock but did not have the DLS front brake until 1984. So.... If you are looking for a DLS front...

12/14/2014 6:11am Looks like it is, or it has IT175 ignition cover. IT175 had the lump in the center of the cover to clear the longer RHS crank half and ignition. The YZ125 (1980) had the flat cover. It also looks like a IT175 DG pipe. Looks like a nice bike.

12/13/2014 8:00pm About 7 years ago I started with a 1980 YZ125. I needed more power in the over 40 open class so I started looking into an IT175 swap. This is what I ended up with: 1980 YZ125 transmission in NOS YZ125 cases. I found a NOS 1980 IT175 Crank. I replaced the RH half of the crank with a 1980...
