At the '92 Las Vegas SX Mike actually held off Jeff Ward in the LCQ to get the last spot on the gate. It was the first time in over 5 years that Ward didn't qualify for a 250 main!
Mechanics could walk out on to the track with a pitboard. Steve Butler demonstrates.
Damon Bradshaw DNF'd both motos at Red Bud 92, then threw rocks at a photographer!!!

Thank you so much for posting this topic and all the pics you have contributed.
Do you have any images of Ando, a young Reed, Ashcan, Byrner, Gobert and McFarlane? These were the guys I grew up reading about in Aus.
Am a BIG fan of Ando and Reed btw
Thanks!
I was very lucky to grow up in the same area & age group as the McFarlane brothers and Andrew was all class even as a junior.
BTW, the #51 RM80 & RM125 in the video is non other than "ReedyMX" who posted the link. A bit of history there Tim.
Ando even went to LL in the early 90's and beat Carmichael and Reynard I believe. Ando was pretty much unbeatable as a teenager and was the guy that Chad grew up chasing...
Nice pic man. That might be the best one in here of Cooper. And I love the one MC Fan did of Jeff Glass.
People like to credit RC with the new way of training to be the best instead of relying on natural ability, but I believe it started with MC in 95'-96'. He dominated those years against top flight competition.
Ando = legend
Have pics of Reed, Ando and Byrner in the 90's just getting around to posting them.
Stay tuned...
