At the '92 Las Vegas SX Mike actually held off Jeff Ward in the LCQ to get the last spot on the gate. It was the first time in over 5 years that Ward didn't qualify for a 250 main!

Ando is a legend, a nicer guy I doubt has ever been a top pro in OZ. Even as a junior on a YZ80 super professional, wish I could say the same for his competition.....

Yes Ando is a legend and a super nice guy too. Proof that you can be a champion and be a good person!

Ando even went to LL in the early 90's and beat Carmichael and Reynard I believe. Ando was pretty much unbeatable as a teenager and was the guy that Chad grew up chasing...

Hands down my favorite era. The era I grew up racing in. The feel of 90s MX/SX was great!

People like to credit RC with the new way of training to be the best instead of relying on natural ability, but I believe it started with MC in 95'-96'. He dominated those years against top flight competition.

Agree 110%. Moto619 and myself had a brief chat with him in Brisbane last year and he is sooo down to earth and freindly it was hard to believe actually. He signed stuff, took pictures, had a chat and also talked freely about why he left Husky, which was not only surprising but also refreshing for a rider to talk openly about why he jumped ship.

In my opinion, this is by far the best thread ever on Vital. The only way it gets any better is if somebody can post up some pics of Miss Coors Light from the early 90's!!!
