Once I got the chain installed on the bike, it was time for the first test ride. The DDJ needle that was originally in the carburetor was way too rich, so I replaced it with a DGL needle, and the bike's performance improved significantly. I rode a few laps around the house and confirmed that the engine and gears seem to work just like they should. My 1984 Honda CR125, which I built previously, also made it into the photos. The bike is still missing the front brake and a few other small parts before my project is completely finished.
That CR looks awesome, and the photos with the midnight sun are beautiful!
Finland is gorgeous!
(I would make the exhaust bracket a bit thicker (4–5 mm) 😉
Thanks for the compliments! Yeah, I might design a thicker bracket later and have it CNC-machined from billet aluminum. Cutting 5 mm aluminum plate with an angle grinder wasn't exactly ideal. 😄
We are almost done with this build! The aftermarket front brake I had ordered for the bikinally arrived, and I could assemble it. I also designed an HRC-style brake hose guide and got it 3D printed. I had to mount the front number plate decal from Evo-MX first, and after that, I could assemble the front brake and bleed it, which went fairly smoothly.
