And found this long lost gem.
A patch from, the now defunct,Tug's Tavern on emerald street in Pacific Beach.
Legendary side door taquitos and salads. And awesome Sunday morning breakfasts.
Somewhere in my boxes of relics, I have a key chain tape measure from, sun electric, that my dad worked for in San Diego back in the 60's-70's.
Guess I'll have to do some digging.
That Tug's Tavern patch is over forty years old, maybe older...
...did some digging and that place closed in November of 1985...
...heck, that patch could be over fifty years old depending on when you got it...
...that tavern was open for 17 years so that tavern opened in around '68?

Sometime in the mid 70's.
It came off of one of their hats.

Down in the basement going through boxes of stuff.
Another box of pure gold.
Nascar stuff, Earnhardt, Gordon, etc... stuff from over 25yrs ago.
Everything limited editions.
Even a Jeff Gordon winged sprint car.
Gotta be a few thousand bucks of stuff these days.

I have pencils from my dad that say John's Manvile. From early 70's.
When you think your day couldn’t be any worse, remember, you didn’t fuck up a Ferrari.

Saw this over the weekend.
Jim Clark, Lotus, Nurburgring...
What a shame, that's the last of the Naturally Aspirated F-cars ever made....
That's cool.
There was so much top less women stuff back then and my mom hated it. But my God...looking back its so harmless compared to what any o us can see on the internet now.
Sweet corn season. The lovely Mrs Sandberm picking some good heads and a pic of a not so good head. Smut. Its slimy and gross.
Oh man! I have a snake phobia seriously terrified of any snake. It’s beautiful, what kind of snake is that Joey?
I’m a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. Really cool stuff!😎
The Dale Earnhardt cars reminded me of the Christmas I got my wife and I permanently banned from her sisters invite list.
HAAHAA! What did you do?😇
I told the story in here before in a Christmas thread or something I forget. I'll tell it again for you, it's funnier now than when it happened. We went to sister in-laws house for Christmas. They had family visiting from back east and they were die hard nascar fans, they had nascar hats and team shirts and whatever other nascar apparel and accessories they make. And it's all they wanted to talk about. It's Christmas so it's peak football season but no one wants to talk about this team or that team (which honestly I don't follow that close either) but I don't know shit about nascar. So after trying to fit in and pretend I had a clue what they were talking about I wound up playing with kids in the living room instead. One their kids shows me his Dale Earnhardt #3 toy car he got for his present. I said cool lets check it out ! So the kid maybe 5 or 6 years old opens the package and we start rolling the car back and forth. I had a few beers in me by this point and was having fun playing with the kids. I don't why but for some reason I slid the car sideways on the hardwood floor into the wall and in my best redneck accent was saying "Turn lay eft Dale ! Turn lay eft", and crash, into the wall he went. Right at the wrong time dad walks around the corner and sees the whole thing, I kid you not the guy absolutely lost his shit, he was shaking and turning red and sputtering "THAT WAS A COLLECTORS ITEM !! IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE OPENED" !! And he was pissed pissed pissed, I thought he was gonna vaporlock right there in front of us. Then he looked at me like he truly wanted to kill me, I remember seeing veins popping out of his neck and beads of sweat on his forehead, he was turning red and drooling he was so pissed. I didn't know what to say besides "Oh sorry man I thought it was a toy", which not surprisingly didn't help calm him down. Then he blabbered something unintelligible and started walking around in circles like he was trying to decide how he was going to kill me. At that point I did the old "Exit, stage left" move and slithered out of there, found Sue and said hey I think it's time for us to go you about ready ? Funny thing we haven't been invited back since 😆
Seeing multiple Dale Earnhardt cars still in their packages gave me an odd satisfaction. This guy acted like he was going to have some rare collectors item, meanwhile there's probably thousands of people that have the exact same car. It's about as rare as sand on a beach hahaha...
Pit Row
OH MAN! That is funny……especially the turn left part!
I think this is airplane related so maybe one of our experts can explain it.
Last Sunday I went for a walk out in the desert scablands South of Potholes reservoir in Wa and found this. I think they train airline pilots in nearby Moses Lake and they will make loops out over where I was. It was truely out in the middle of nowhere far from any road and was the only "trash " I found.
We have a couple of big ass televisions at the house, and cabin.
But sitting at friends house watching replays of the Vuelta, on a monster frikkin screen, has me realizing that I need to upgrade before A1.
That’ll be epic. It’ll be awesome watching the race on a 27” screen 👍
A little ride out to Benbrook. Perfect weather.
That’s a really cool pic.
Like the Bike. Nice put a face with your handle too.👍🏻
That's my friend, Kip. I took the picture.
You can kinda see me in my avatar though. 😉
Always could be worse ...maybe you are on a casual drive with your mistress when a tree jumps out in front of you and you both die in a ball of fire?
I got to visit the Jim Clark museum in Duns , Scotland , earlier this year, only 3 cars in it but a trove of memorabilia, and interactive content.
My old boss, Andrew Cowan , of Mitsubishi Motorsport WRC , was on one of the voice segments, lovely to hear his voice again.
One can only wonder what he could have gone on to achieve, or would it just have been a matter of time.
Jackie Stewart, who i worked for at Jaguar Racing lost 57 freinds to Motor Racing, it was such a dangerous sport back then.
Fantastic shot . Captures the rawness of the cars back then
What in hell!!!😂
