Updated post from this past Saturday. Pieces are coming together and starting to feel like I’m actually driving the car now

race from three weeks ago below

Heat race, had the car too rich and was bogging down when i got into the cushon. We leaned it out for the main and it made a big difference.

It’s freakishly amazing how seemingly a few inches makes the difference of how fast you’re gonna get thru a turn (it looks like a few inches on camera).

Got a lot of improving to do, I’m scuffing a bunch of speed on my entry/mid corner. It’s feeling more like moto to me wich is good. Railing the perfect corner over and over

Corner entry was better half way through the main. Forget the cushion damn you lost so much time up there. For that track I think lowering the tires 1lb each in the rear would help, and stick to the bottom more. Not sure what you're running for stagger but it definitely liked being on the bottom ... in the heat when you were losing the speed up top work on diamonding off the corner. It adds 50ft to the straight to accelerate on. You're doing much better obviously so now it's time to get comfortable around other cars. Good job D.

Oh ... now fix the throttle and steal someone's enclosed landscaping trailer!!! 🀣

I could never race that format. I got dizzy just watching the video after two laps! Guess I need to right-hand turns to balance me out.

Do you get used to it, or do you come out of the car walking sideways?

You totally get used to it, I have a buddy that rents cars for a reasonable price if anyone wants to come out for a practice day or even to dive in and learn on a race day

Video of the main from the stands, yeah I don’t think I posted the new trailer, that was a whole adventure in itself going and picking it up. I plan on painting it eventually. Yeah now that I’m getting comfortable it’s time to start turning it up. I got some setup things figured out and this weekend was the first time I felt like that car was better than I was. Past races I just had zero grip looking back.  In the heat race I had the car way too rich so it was bogging down when I got up in the cushion so we leaned out out and I also found that my secondary fuel filter was fairly dirty, not terrible but not perfectly clean. It was ripping for the main and my throttle acting funny really got in my head about halfway. Once I took it apart I found that the main sprint on my linkage broke and one wrong jingle and it could have wedged my throttle open 😬

With the tire pressure, I was just thinking of an easy way to get more side bite without three trips to the tire trailer. Fun mounting up new sneakers but really hard on the wallet.

Yeah new tires every weekend isn’t even an option for me πŸ˜‚ I went out with 5 on the LR and 7 on the RR

Cracks me up how a 12-15 race guy (Day) can come in and win against some of the best, High Limit excluded, drivers. Just puts Gravel, Kofoid and the rest of them in the back seat. Him and that Elk Grove 57 kid curb stomping when they pop in for fun is absolutel hilarious.
