Moto Memorabilia

Was pulling stuff out of the rafters for a garage sale and found a bunch of moto stuff.  Love the the 1988 and 1991 moto-cards.  Check out some of the names on the cards.  Also the Costa Mesa speedway programs are pretty cool.

Very cool stuff!   I really wish I would’ve saved more things now that I’m older.  I used to go to the Chaparral sales and one time they had a huge bin of used PC Kawi number plates.  I got Brown, Vohland, and several others for only $5 bucks each!  I bought them just for decoration in my parents garage.  I ended up having to toss them in 2004 when I moved out.  Thankfully I was able to save a few cool items though!

I saved a few sentimental items that survived by pure luck.  These were from the autograph signings at Chaparral.

Cool stuff. Moto memorabilia sure does bring back memories, which is why I love it. Even old magazines, which I unfortunately had to throw mine out.

I saved my old toys like Road Champs, Hotwheels etc. A lot of it is McGrath stuff. I had planned on giving it all to my son. Not sure when that will be as he still plays rough with his toys, being 3. But I'm excited to grab those bins, at some point and show it all to him.

I have some other autographed stuff that I saved and some jerseys and numberplates that I got through work. Some of that is hanging around the house/garage in various spots.

^^ very cool to see Carlsbad Raceway artifacts.  That Anaheim pass is awesome.  I saved my ticket stub but it’s almost completely faded.  I think Moto/ Supercross does a great job allowing access to the athletes.  In recent years I’ve been getting signed posters from lots of the big stars to pass down to my nephew.

Haha similar to me. My dad bought a KX 125 from someone in the industry and they put a set of James Stewart’s plastics/graphics on it from his rookie year. I took it to Elsinore with those graphics on it and people were asking if it was actually James’ bike. I was so embarrassed that I peeled the numbers off the plates right when we got home. Not sure what ended up happening to them.

Awesome story!  Thanks for sharing.  I can completely relate and would’ve done the same!  Times were sure different back then!

Man I really wish they would make trading cards again. I know there are some Deegan cards out there in one of the new sets (which is cool, but not a fan of him). Hopefully there will be more riders included in sets soon.
