Traded my beautiful 2009 KTM 150SX for this POS clapped out 2018 CRF450R. Not even sure WTH I was thinking that day. Needs all kinds of work due to neglect, but the engine and clutch seemed to be fine. No hour meter, so need to do a leak down test to see whats actually going on. First parts order placed.

First thing was to take the bike apart and get the suspension to Andreani USA to clean, polish and service. Fortunately the spring size had already been changed for a rider my size. 210lbs w/gear. Got a bolt kit and went through and replaced as many bolts as I had available. New engine bolt kit is on the way for the rest of them. Drained the radiator and refilled with fresh coolant. What was in it actually looked pretty fresh already. Replaced front and rear brakes, Shifter, both brake and clutch levers with new Turner performance. NICECNC Brake pedal is on the way , along with some bling. Did a bypass on the clutch engage start switch as well. Changed out the chain slider and guide, took off front and rear sprockets to replace along with new DID chain. Used Turner performance for new 13/49 gearing. Never wanted a 450 in the past. Decided I would try it out and see if it will grow on me. Probably gonna have so much money into it that I will have to learn to like it!
New throttle cable , Pro Taper fat bars and FLO fatbar mount. Already had a BRP triple clamp on it. Was glad to see that. Maybe not such a bad bike swap after all. Suspension all finished and re-installed. I love the way Andreani suspension looks when they done with it. These tubes were dirty and rough along with the shock. Now they look sleek and shiny!! And all setup with revalve and all new internals, minus the springs. Got the new airbox, cage and twin air filter in too. It was pain in the ass to get the shock in and out and the airbox changed. Requires the sub-frame be completely removed.
New Tusk Black wheels with red hubs and Dunlop MX34 front and rear tires are at my buddys house getting tires put on.
Was nice to get to a point where I can get a little plastic and seat back on it. Closing in on it fairly quickly. Still more parts on the way.
Got the DID chain and graphics kit on the bike last night. It is coming back to life.
Go ahead and rebuild the top end, cam chain and oil pump while you are at it so you know where you are at in that department

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
That is how I am leaning now regardless of the leak down test. Got Bundy Built in Mooresville lined up to do the work in a few weeks.
Got new rims and tires back on it last night. Still waiting on new exhaust from Bill's pipe. That's the last thing for the most part. I may add a few more bling items. Maybe some Ti motor mounts from Works Chassis Lab. IF I can get anyone to ever respond to my calls and emails. Not even sure they are worth it. Still a ways to go before I can actually ride it. Leak down test needed, along with setting sag. Probably start with flush on the forks and 107 race sag.
Still need to line up a time for top end rebuild with Bundy Built in Mooresville.
Bundy does some great work and Chuck Shirley at Privateer Connection in Rock Hill SC is a great Moto shop.
YZ250F i had back in 2022 had suspension and some other work done by them. Seemed pretty solid. I may give them a call. Little closer for me too.
New Dcor seat cover and Turner performance foot pegs installed last night. Bill's Pipe full system finally shipped. Supposed to arrive on 8/11. Finally will be all done and I can get some laps in soon!
