Easy there. I would say its competitive.

If it was brilliant, Short would be getting podiums... or holeshots.

briliant is a bit of a stretch, better would be a better word,

Short is getting better and is the best bet for a podium, but he is still a bit off that,

Man, they have just gotten serious in the AMA SX, after six races they have the most bikes in the top ten of a SX main. That to me is brilliant.

Given how little chance so many people gave the 350 at being even moderately competitive; three 350s in the top ten is, in my (and Geoff's) opinion, quite brilliant.

If Short is slower because of the KTM, then how is 2nd placed rider from 2010 (Windham) slower, has he painted the KTM red?

Short isn't in the same class as the top five guys (Stewart, Villopoto, Dungey, Reed and Canard), never will be, never was. KTM is helping him make top five. It's an awesome machine that 350!!!

I'm a 350 believer and think its awesome KTM have 3 bikes in the top 10 but....

to me, brilliant is Pro Circuit at Vegas last year or A1 this year where they get 3 bikes on the podium. Maybe one day KTM will replicate those results. When they do they will be brilliant.

Just think how "brilliant" those 350's could be if they had the extra 100cc's like the rest of the class......

It really is just silly to argue that at the top level of SX horsepower does not matter. I think KTM is "brilliant" for marketing the 350 as the answer for the average rider. They are on to something with that idea, the 350 is great for us non-pro's who could not possibly make the most of a 450.

KTM is going to make the "big 4" change the way they think. Those Japanese engineers don't like they are told they are wrong. But the Austrian engineer's are on the right track and should take those 2 strokes, cross country bikes, 350's, and go kick their asses.

Did all three of them ride their bikes up onto the podium to celebrate?

You know what is funny. Ask Cairoli and Roczen what they think of the bikes. I don't think there is one person on here that can ride a bike like those two. Now if they love the bike, isn't that enough. I mean does anyone here really know what a good or bad bike is.

True, that is pretty amazing, and no doubt Pro Circuit is a level above all the other Lites bikes, but Pro Circuit has been that for decades.

KTM have just started their serious program in America this year, and already 3 bikes in the top ten. You have to look at that rationally, it's pretty amazing. Until now they have done it by halves. Most bikes in the top ten, that is something special.

It might be a great bike to ride but against 450s it hasn't got one single start...

And in SX where there is effectively short bursts of acceleration or mini starts just about everywhere the 350 is proving to not be enough...

350 vs 250 2 strokes would be a good fight tho...

When we gonna do that... 10 years when only millionaires can afford the sport...

fuckers..

Not arguing with you, but asking someone who is paid to ride the bike is not really the answer. Ask anyone who is a factory rider and they "love" the bike. It is their job to love it. Until the end of the season.

The average rider will judge if the 350 is a good idea or not.

Personally I think KTM is "brilliant" marketing to almost all the niche segments. I hope they raise the bar for the competition. Don't follow the sheep to the slaughter.

Give KTM 12 months and they will be the leader in America. They can invest so much into the sport, while all the other companies are pulling money out of the sport. Believe me, in a year everyone will be supporting KTM. They are a very smart company. we have seen it here in Europe and now they are starting that in America. I have an image here of Short in second place in the start, at leas he is second as they enter the first corner, not sure where he came out.

I think KTM is doing better than they had planned. Its been stated they are on a 3 year plan. I think Short has been doing great, especially considering how deep the field is. And Roczen has been pretty good as well. Seems like Roczen is pretty happy and will be riding orange for awhile.

WTF are you talking about. Short does have podium talent. A 6th or better is a win for him. If 2 or 3 riders get hurt he might sneak a podium in but the way it stands now he has no chance. As far as holeshots go the bike is not holding him back. Reaction time and who wants that first corner the most is the name of the game in SX. Power not so much.

The KTM 350 is a awesome bike. Roczen killed it and Short and Alessi finished right where they should of.

The bike just needs a top guy like Yamaha( Stewart) , Honda(Canard) ,Kawi(RV) and Suzuk(
Dungey) has.

A bike is only good as its rider, RC proved it his whole career. Honda's and Suzuki's were considered piles of shit before he rode them.

Great point...the bike is proving itself... as is Roczen..how impressive is that guy?!

When he moves up full time the Roczen/350 combo could be devastating in GPs or AMA....

I think he gave Short ans Alessi a little extra motivation not to get beat by him this weekend.

Three 350s in the top ten in it's sixth ever supercross is v impressive even if you hate the bike....

Yeah, no bike could possibly have any success without your rider aboard.

Ah...now that you have a link to your stuff in this thread, are you going to bump it a bunch of times, like you did in the other thread?

I don't mind the occasional spam, but generally I think things that people are interested in and are relevant tend to float up on their own, not via self-promo. Smile

GuyB, I think it's a pretty nice new addition for the MX fan. Self promotion like KTM you mean?
