You people need to quit complaining about the coverage. 24 years ago I had to try and find a way on dial up Internet to even listen to these race live. The coverage is as good as it can be. Ricky and James are amazing. They give little details that no one would ever notice. Who cares if the mispronounce someone's name.wtf. Quit bitching about the quality of coverage.
C'mon who is really interested in seeing some of the most anticipated lead changes of recent years? Give us that battle for 5th & 8th place on some tiny ass screens with with some choppped up rambling about anything but the race happening in front of us. No one is interested in motocross history being made. Let's talk about how next's year's B-level team might shape up. That'll keep folks glued to the screen.
"...The "battle box" just feels like a lazy excuse to watch 2 groups of riders with the drone rather than go out there and find the action with the better shots..."
I was thinking yesterday, I wonder if they have replaced 2 or 3 cameras out on the track with 1 or 2 drones for cost savings. They will red pill us by telling us we are getting "better shots" with the drone but in reality, no, the production crew is just saving money and we are getting a different view.
The drones should compliment the trackside cameras, not replace them.
Thanks for the input RC

And there is one thing in particular that is a huge part of covering racing in any form, keep track of what is happening in the field. Is there a guy going significantly faster that those around him/her? The American SX and MX series broadcast is lousy at this.
Like yesterday when Shimoda was starting to put in the fastest laps of the race and coming through the pack, zero mention of it until Shimoda caught Kitchen and the other front runner and Weege acted all surprised that wow here comes Shimoda. Dude, anyone with live timing knew he was coming!
This happens all the time. And it's only a problem with SX and MX in America, in every other motorsport the announcers are capable of calling the action and simultaneously keeping track of what is going on in the field.
Split screen bullshit...top screen..battle for first then they put on the bottom screen..battle for third...when u can see 1234th place in both screens...lol stupid
Telling people to “quit bitching” just shuts down discussion. Fans criticize because they care about the sport and want the coverage to be the best it can be—not because they expect flawless broadcasts.
