Well i might not need a new cylinder... The cylinder in not gouged its aluminum worn onto the nikasil. on the outside of the cyl wall like melted build up... I was told muriatic acid will take the aluminum off and not damage the cylinder. Has anyone done this sucessfully? And how do your remove it?
I use a small chemical resistant brush to put just enough acid on the aluminum to cover it. It will start dissolving it pretty quick so keep and eye on it. When is starts to loosen you can start carefully pulling the pieces off with a small pick. (push the pic away from you, don't pull it) Add a bit more acid as you go and once it seems that its all off, rinse with lots of clean water and check for any remaining aluminum. If its all good, a very slight clean up with some 4-600 emery cloth and you're good to go.
I don't do the DMXS show, but I'm friends with the guys and I just help out with the chat and such.
